View Full Version : My Mea Culpa to Snoogans

So all this season, I was riding Snoogans about how Eli Manning had a two-cent head and how I wouldn't want him on my team.
In the last four games, Eli proved me wrong. Smart, solid football. Nothing earth-shattering, but he got the job done and stepped up. His only INT was a tipped ball.
The drive at the end of the game is the stuff legends are made of.
He's not a hall of fame QB yet - he still needs numbers to back the ring up - but he's well on his way.
Congrats, Snoogans. Enjoy your victory.

They both got a ring. Call me when Eli's in Canton - and not just for Peyton's induction

as long as he finishes with more TD's then picks, he is automatically ahead of one QB i can think of thats already in the hall of fame.
What was his name again?

lol you are so funny. His RB got him his ring. He is a bum and every true football fan knows it. When someone else has 75 more int to TD and a losing record as a QB I will then stop hating Namath. Until then Namath is the worst QB ever inducted into the Hall.

you are correct.
Here Tenbats. Miami has been shitty for 3 years now but until now they never had back to back losing seasons and one of the best organizations ever. Hows the Jets been for the past 40 years.

What about Bob Griese
Griese:
TD-INT 192-172
Yards 25,092
QB Rating 77.1
Namath:
TD-INT 173-220
Yards 27,663
QB Rating 65.5
Wow its closer then i though, but i would still say that Griese is worse

What about Bob Griese
At least Griese had stuff to do with his team winning, and I would bet has more TD passes then INT's
Namath had 174 TDs, and 220 INTS

yes, but his sassyness was off the charts.
i'm not sure if it sassyness is spelled correctly.

You would say a guy who has 20 more TD's then int's, 11 point higher passer rating, an undefeated team, 3 SB appearances with 2 wins and a winning record for his career is worse then a guy who has 47 more Int's then td and a losing record for his career? Namath had 3 winning seasons out of 12.
not only are you a rat, you know nothing about football.

qb's don't exist in a bubble, so comparing qb's based on stats isn't nearly an exact science. i don't care either way, but how did their rb's and the rest of their offenses compare? if a qb has the entire offense on him, he'll throw more picks. if you take brady and put him on a shitty team and he could very well have a losing record. saying a qb's team had a losing record or threw more picks than td's doesn't really mean much.

True but it was a running back that won the Super Bowl for the Jets. Both QB's had good RB's. Miami had better but it didnt matter. Namath was a bum if it was for his "guarantee" he would be a nobody.

Except for that whole AFL/NFL merger. Because, you know, that's responsible for the NFL as we know it. Tool.

No thank you. Its bad enough we have all those dirty, nasty, drunk jets fans coming to NJ to watch them. Please dont force us to make claim to them.
Oh and Tenbats the merger wasnt made because of Namath the merger was helped by the win of the entire Jets team. You remember the SB, the one that namath did nothing and Snell ran for 121 yards and 1 TD. Oh and the Jets Defense picked the Colts 4 times??? Namath did nothing, I repeat nothing!!!
What an idiot!
I understand being a Jets fan you really have no one great to root for or be your hero. All you have is Namath, Toon and maybe Curtis Martin but then again he was a Pat for 3 years. I think thats about it. The Jaguars have a better history then the Jets and they have only been around 15 years or so.
And before you get on Miami. You must understand a couple bad seasons means nothing. They are tied as the winning est franchise in NFL history .580 winning %. What is the Jets? .450% they are a terrible organization and their fans are losers. Sorry!!!

namath completed 61% of his passes for the game, with his top receiver acting as a decoy because he was injured the week before. he gained 12 yards per completion (they ran an offense of running and high percentage short passes...where have we heard that later on?), threw no int's and was named super bowl mvp.
