I mean to the 'flag' specifically?
I don't personally, I love this country for what is great, and hate it for where it is so abysmal, but as an adult, the idea of 'pledging allegiance' to some 'country' i.e. 'nation', (especially one as insanely politically turbulent as this one) seems absolutely insane and the complete opposite of freedom and of the constitution. Not a big deal, but what do you guys think. And think about this for a minute, I love what my soldiers have died for, not the flag argument, ect...

dude, are we really THAT politically turbulent? Elections with no riots after the results, two parties that really aren't that different...I think we're pretty good but I get what you're saying

You may not pledge allegiance, but I know for a fact when someone wins an Olympic gold medal and they raise the flag and play the anthem you well up a little.

I do.

(although, now that I think about it, that's more an empathetic response to actually winning a gold medal. If I ever won a gold medal, I'd cry like Dick Vermeil)

This always makes me well up:

Is this something that comes up a lot? Other than school, I don't remember pledging allegiance anywhere. I do rise and take my hat off for the National Anthem, though.

But sure, if it comes up, I will do the pledge.
