please dont.
doing this will only open up a chance of a GNR reunion, and honestly, nobody wants to see Axl Rose again.

besides.. STP could never put out another "Core"

Probably true

My interest would be in seeing them play as they're a phenomenal live band, Scott Wieland is quite a performer.

One of the rumors was that STP would be the opening act for the supposed Led Zeppelin reunion. Could be a sign of things to come or not.

That's a good thing. Easily their worst album.

They got infinitely better when they stopped trying to rip off other better Seattle bands and got faux-glammy and opted to rip off groups like Redd Kross instead.

I'm also one of the random few confused people that enjoyed Weiland's solo album.

Honestly, I think he downgraded the quality of his backing band by going with Velvet Revolver instead of STP.

I can't stand stp. If I I wasn't so lazy I'd pull up the most over rated band thread and post in there

No way. Most critics always have and still do hate them. They're about as far from overrated as you can get.

I couldn't stand them when they first came out, but I enjoyed them as they got more fucked on drugs and turned their sound both poppier and sleazier. I like that stuff the sam way I like Oasis...totally derivative, but ripped off really, REALLY well.

I always hated stp. I was thinking overrated cause evettime I turned on on rock station before I got xm it was stp.

Oasis is one of my guilty pleasures though. I saw them in Toronto a few summers ago and loved it

Actually the more I listen, the more Oasis comes out of the guilty pleasure category and into the 'I totally dig this' category.

Years ago, I'd have focused on "well, they took this sound from here, and that from there, and where's the artistic originality" thing...in fact, it's why I didn't really like them the first time around.

But they've got a great catalog...I think STP is the same way. Once you get past hearing Plush and Creep 1800 times, and start actually digging into the albums, there's some good stuff there.

That said, I don't know if I'd have a ton of interest in seeing them on a reunion tour.

Although, I did catch the Smashing Pumpkins a couple times last year, and not only were they fantastic, but a lot of the reviews were saying the set up now is better live than the original ever was. I never saw the original live, so I can't compare, but they tore it down both times I saw them.

So who knows.

i have always liked STP but scott weiland is a douchebag (and a hell of a performer).

seen them 4 times in concert, once was at the river rave about 8? years ago. hmmm maybe longer than that, getting old here hehe...

that show Sat night at PNC came real close to turning ugly. The vibe was getting very dark. O & A talked about what happened (they were at the show, they actually got booed pretty bad when they came out) so you can catch it at the beginning of the replay if you care.

I have seen them twice in the past before Saturday at PNC. Those previous shows STP was great...Saturday, Weiland sounded like shit. They took an hour and 15 minutes to get to the stage. They had zero energy. It was a waste of time to sit in rain. I couldnt get out of there fast enough once the show ended...

army ants is probably my favorite stp song, mostly because they rocked it big time in two of the shows i saw them in.

hey! does anyone know what show im talking about here? there was an mtv or vh1 special on STP where they did "sex type thing" in front of a backdrop scene that had real people in it? it was like there was a room behind them and it might have been a hot chick or two maybe getting kind of kinky?

Yea man it was def getting ugly. You might have heard me and my friends chanting "Heroin" or "O.D" lol. He was being such a primadonna rockstar. They had zero energy when they finally came on.

It sucks to hear this kind of stuff. STP is my favorite band of the last 15+ years & I was thinking about seeing a show this summer, but all the live performances I saw leading up to the tour (I think Kimmel was the one that stuck out the most) seemed so lackluster by Scott that I decided not to waste the money. Sounds like it was a good decision.

Lol we were to the right of the stage about half-way up the lawn. Really cool venue but its a shame that Weiland can't put it together.
