I watched the original miniseries from 1990 waaay back in the days...any of you fans of it?

The original Lonesome Dove is my favorite western of all time. Just perfect in every way. I never could get into the sequels/prequels. Robert Duval and Tommy Lee Jones ARE Gus and Call. Definitely Tommy Lee Jones' greatest performance ever.

I watched it with my folks, i even remember that i missed school that whole week because i was sick

Plus the irish kid getting crushed by all the water moccasisns was awesome at the time

The original is one of the best movies / westerns / mini s - I've ever seen.
Robert Duval & Tommy Lee Jones were great.

I doubt it can top the original.
