I am not sure why I was thinking about this but i was wondering could a well trained army of midgets beat a well trained army of non midgets.

It depends on the battlefield.
If it's a desert, then no.

If it's in the mountains, then no.
If it's in a football stadium full of chocolate pudding, then yes.

Both armies would be equally outfitted for the war.

Man, I think it really depends on transportation and how mechanized the armies are.

If it is primarily mechanized warfare I say it's anybody's game - the midgets have an equal shot against the average-sized army.

If you are talking men on the ground, then the average-sized army has the upper hand. It is simply easier for them to move - just watch 'Little People; Big World' and you can see what I mean.
