i really like this show
i think that the two need to have more of an interest in girls(its a little gay) but its smart and funny
is anyone else watching?
the new season starts tonight on usa
if it wasnt on such an awful time slot i think it could be a pretty competitive little show

it does real well in the ratings I love it. The main character Shawn is dating Jules, the girl detective, in real life. lucky SOB. she is hott. I agree that the two guys play off each other great. Its funny too. I love that Corbin Bennsen is his dad.

coupled with monk ... they're the two most contrived, predictable and trite shows out there
having said that, the main characters (and their quirks) are so entertaining, i find myslef enjoying both tremendously

i really really love this show. i think it's one of the best shows on tv. i just love the little random shit they talk about or do. sean & gus bounce off of each other so well. i really just laugh my ass off. i've been telling everyone about it, but no one is catching on. i really thought that the only people who have ever watched it were me, my boyfriend & my mom. glad to see that we're not the only ones.

I watched for the 1st time last week, and since my better half and I both are intrigued and entertained by Psych, it will surely become part of our viewing rotation....mostly because we don't agree on too much shit to watch on TV, and anything we both enjoy is a rare godsend. I had no idea this show was on for so long.....

I watched my first full episode last night.
I had seen bits and pieces before but never really got into it because I wanted to start from the beginning but it appears that's not necessary.
The characters are pretty good. The 2 guys do play off of each other very well.
You cpuld actually believe that they were life long friends.

i thought it was a pretty dark episode & a little out of character for sean. i'm gonna rewatch it in a bit because i don't think i am very happy if this is the direction its going to continue to take.

I wasnt bothered by what Shawn did. But i like how they kinda explain why him an his dad fight so much. Also, I loved the flashback when shawn got arrested and you see lassiter as a regular cop with no clue at all. The part when Gus tries to throw Shawn out the building was good too.

Good call on the Quincy/ Matlock comparisons. If you watch these shows for the mystery plots you are bound to be disappointed. If you watch for the wacky antics of Monk, Gus and Shawn then both shows are highly enjoyable. They are both perfect summer series- they'd never last in the Fall up against Lost or American Idol.

Just saw it. It was okay, it had it's moments though. I guess Lassie, Jules and the Chief had to give up most of their air time to the guest stars. Kind of felt a little rushed trying to fit alot of stuff in one episode.
Shawn doing the stuff at the house was reminiscent of when he used to pull those tricks on Gus when he was little with the walkie talkie in the wall where Gus thought for the longest time that he meet a indian princess spirit in that Ghostbuster type episode.

I loved when Shawn did that dance from Breakfast Club on the roof. Also, at the end after his kisses the girl, you see him turn her down b/c he wants Jules instead. I found that interesting. He coulda had the girl he wanted all through HS but decided to pass. The other thing I like was that Lassie was soo happy he arrested that girl, saying it was the best date he ever had.

Yes, a much better episode than last week, though there was something odd about it. It had all the ingredients of a Psych episode - the characters were themselves, the 80s references were flying, but there was something just odd about it.

Sorry, I feel compelled.
I've never seen a second of this show, but based on the commercials I've seen over the last year or so, I'm willing to say it is the worst television show ever created. The two lead characters annoy me on a level that is incomprehensible. Is it as bad as I think it is?

You need to watch the show. When it first came out, and judging on the commercials, I felt I wouldn't like the show. BUT after watching it, the show is very good and FUNNY!! I watch the episodes on the USA network over and over. Also you gotta love some of the 80's references and the chemistry of the cast especially the Shawn and Gus who grew up together on the show and their flashbacks to when they were younger.

I also love this show, but, if you go back and watch the first couple of seasons (or half seasons?) it seems like they've maybe changed a writer or two. The comedy is a little flat (especially last half season) and the big hilarious comic reveals at the end of shows is all but gone.

Justine Bateman looked amazing compared to Ally Sheedy. Ugh.
When I thought Jules was going to kiss him instead of being happy I was yelling, "NO!". I was surprised by my reaction but I think like you guys that the sexual tension between them is important to the show. It will be interesting if this chick will stay on as his girl, that way Jules has to see him in a relationship and she'll like him even more.
Either way, I love this show and Gus was cracking me up. The plane was the best, "look how big I am compared to this plane!" lol

these last two episodes were very different from the way the show usually is. tuesday the 17th was pretty weird compared to other episodes, but i think it was a nice fun departure. i liked how in the season finale sean was the solemn one while gus was joking around to help keep him focused. they play off each other so well, & you can tell that they aren't taking themselves too seriously with things like that.
i really didn't like that jules was going to finally go for sean. that just didn't seem right. it seemed way out of character for her to do that at that point. to me it sort of felt like it just came out of left field. i'm glad that they didn't let it happen though.

I didn't have a problem w/ how they approached it.
Shawn had a really emotional day and she saw that side of him and maybe it made her realize that she liked him.
Maybe him getting pissy w/ her showed her that he wasn't just following her along like a lost puppy.

Yeah, he was the Excorcism Priest.

I thought it was much better than the others so far and surely better than last week's.
I loved when Lassie held off on saying " kiss my a$$ " and instead said, I think, " kiss my love biscuits " and Gus responded " I'm not sure you made that any less offensive ".
As always gret dialog between the characters.

I love how they keep tooling on The Mentalist.
In the fall finale they check Shawn's internet history and one of his hits was " MentalistSpoilers.com ".

After Lassie has them hide behind the desk when the biscuit lady goes by and explains that he made out w/ her at the office picnic and then he has them hide again :

She's like me in a lot of ways, so if it's about an infatuation with Roday i totally understand.

I think that the cops in the show pretty much know that he's not a psychic and are just humoring him. But once Shawn has started "slipping", which, I haven't noticed from other episodes, the chief started to get worried, so she wants someone to watch over him and keep him in check.

How many episodes were there in this half sason ?
It felt like only 6.
I was thinking they were 8 episode runs.
I'm sorry that Mary got killed. He was pretty funny.
I liked when he called the uniform cop " That bailif from Night Court ".
I liked the episode, and I'm glad they ditched the She's All That chick, but I thought the way they did it was kinda unimaginative.
The episode prior to this one was great when the bad guy was yammering on about somthing and Shawn called him on it and he said, " I've heard it both ways. "

I was gonna say that the stories/plots have been somewhat weak but the banter between Shawn & Gus has been great and the guest appearances have worked.
Last week's w/ William Devane & Carl Weathers was very good.

This is about the only one of those "quirky detective" shows that really kind of pulls it off. I say "kind of" because those two guys do cross the line for me a lot and just turn kind of douchy, but they usually remain tolerable.
It's definitely not like that idiotic show "The Mentalist." First, no way in hell any law enforcement agency tolerates an asshat like that more than 2 days. Secondly, any case built on his bullshit would be shredded to bits by the least competent defense lawyer. And, thirdly, he's an asshole.

I don't think Carlton knew. So does that mean that he can blackmail Shawn about his "secret" relationship with Jules? After all it was referenced in the 2nd episode of the series that Carlton and his former partner that he was dating, had to be transferred (prior to Jules) being his partner.
