Seems like there are a million of them out there. Has anyone tried any of them? Seems like they are nothing but snake oil in capsule form. Ive read reviews that Hydroxycut Hardcore actually works but I am still skeptical about taking anything with all those chemicals in them

Ephedra was the greatest of them all. It got to the point where I was losing almost a pound every other day.

HOWEVER!!!!!

I refused to do any cardio while taking the pills, my heart was already beating 1000 times a minute, didn't want to risk it.

Best advice, change the diet and hit the cardio more, pills are a short term fix and a waste of money.

God, i use to use Stackers Stackards? back in H.S. when they still had legal ephedra. I would get wrecked on a few of those before gym and end up vomiting.

That's a lady for ya.

I did use Trimspa when i was 19/20. Did nothing. Worthless.

They're all worthless and pointless.

They're basically caffeine pills. I say just enjoy the deliciousness of coffee, which is loaded with anti-oxidants.

Ephedra + Caffeine + Aspirin actually works for fat burning, but no more ephedra. I found Hydroxycut good for keeping me awake when I cut my calories back, but that's about it.

"Heyyyy Opie"

"Yea, Ant"

"It's Stacker 2, the world's strongest fat burner!".....oh, the old WNEW live reads

Hydroxycut Hardcore works very well for me. I use it often and I think it helps me

even the one they think *might* work, Ephedra; is little more then speed. The 'Fat Burning' part is utter bullshit; unless you consider changing your metabolism about 0.02%. Whoa! That's.... microscopic. Utterly useless. Yeah, I know... like the pills.

Fifteenth time I say it in this forum: no one wants the real solutions to over eating and laziness, they want to take a pill. And that, is a guarantee for failure.

Gvac is the board guru, and 100% right. They are just stimulants that are meant to get you moving, or hyper enough not to sit around and vegitate. So when you lose weight due to increased activity, you just attribute it to the pills, total B.S.

The girl I work with has lost, like 40 lbs in 6 months using Hydroxycut Hardcore and no exercise... The pills make her a little cracked out though. I took one a month ago and it made me way too jittery

Oddly enough, that averages out to about 1.67 pounds per week - which is healthy weight loss when you're trying to lose. (40lbs divided by 24 weeks = 1.6666...)

Of course, the cracked-out part is much scarier than what I had initially assumed about it, though.

I don't drink regular coffee because I get too jacked (you should've seen the nastygram I sent to one of my supervisors after having the regular French Vanilla instead of the decaf Hazelnut; yipe!) so I'm totally off this. Plus, the last time I took Hydroxycut it made me sick to my stomach. I am now convinced that it's made of sawdust and iron filings.

I almost died one time taking this kind of stuff but it was back in 1999 and it was thermogenics and had ephedra in it, and i took 3 capsules instead of 2.

I went to basketball class and i was running a fever and my body almost totally overheated i just remember getting back from class and showering and the cold water would hit my body and was rolling off of me warm, my temp spiked to 104 degrees

I swear other then doing an 8-ball in one night by myself that was the closest i came to dying

But I don't have time to excercise AND post on Ron and Fez messageboards. What's a fatty to do?

Maybe it's just poorly worded, but this comes across like you're lecturing people here over and over again because they want easy solutions to weiht loss. If you look at the other threads in this forum, it's about people exercising and adjusting their eating habits, not pills and gimmicks.

Also keep in mind that everyones genetic makeup is different and we all react differently to various stimulants. As mojo mentioned, a lot of the people posting here are on the money by exercising and eating well. I agree that I hate people who come up to me and ask me what I did to lose weight and expect some easy answer, like a magic pill or surgery. Theres nothing wrong with taking a supplement to boost the weight loss even more, wether it be green tea, water, a fat burner or a multi vitamin. It may not work for someone, I tried the hydroxy and it did nothing for me.

exactly, i just didn't want to bust Mike's balls about it. I take those pills, but i haven't relied on them to be a magic cure all for me. I use them as an aide. I've adjusted my diet and exercise regularly.

Try CLA (congegated linoleic acid). Its not a fat burner, its an amino acid that helps you maintain muscle mass while dieting.

The pills do nothing in terms of "burning fat".
The pills supply no such mechanism.

Here's what they DO accomplish:
Appetite suppression.
Added Energy.
Diuretic effect.
and, perhaps most importantly: motivation.

Totally badly worded and it sounds lectury, Mea Culpa. I stink.

Dieting is the hardest thing to do, it's insane, its torture even discussing it makes me nuts.

hey y'all, great board. it's about time i joined... the eca stack (ephedrine, caffeine, aspirin) is still the most profound fat burner around, but it can be a mind-fuck. i try to limit using it only in the beginning of ripping up, it gets the ball rolling in the right direction and can help establish good & healthy habits, although it's not very healthy itself. it raises your body temp, suppresses your appetite, and helps to hold on to muscle while losing weight. if you buy the ingredients separately you can ween off of the stack slowly, it's also much cheaper than to buy an all in one pill (pure ephedrine can still be found online). add a couple meal replacement powders to get more frequent meals, a good amount of flax seed oil (3 tbls/day), and prioritize lifting weights over cardio and you will get in shape, fast.

i bought a great ebook from one of the sharpest, most unbiased authorities in fitness. i'll email it to anyone who wants it, it's a good reference. let me know

My first job was at a health food store where I proceeded to get hooked on all kinds of stimlants at 16 years old. Seeing them listed above got me all nostalgic for that wonderful speediness. It was great but really addicting. When I'd lay off for a while my head would be pounding and I'd be dragging ass. I struggled with that for about four years before these kinds of products were finally pulled. I've sampled some ephedra products since then and felt like I was going to have a heart attack.

Some popular thermogenic products today are green tea, yerba mate, and guarana. They contain moderate doses of caffeine so technically you could just drink some coffee, though coffee's pretty rough on the stomach.

For energy, try some herbs in the category called "adaptogens", like American ginseng, rhodiola, maca, and holy basil. They help your body adjust to stressful situations and can give you more energy while you excersize. Some of these are known to boost your sex drive too...which makes burning calories a whole lot more fun.

I found that by eating these weird things called fruits and veggies and also a substance from deepest darkest africa called "whole grains" not sure of the spelling. I have plenty of energy and my weight is easy to maintain.

I tried stacker 2 back in the wnew days and they just gave me a buzz.
