Im probably gonna get in. You pick 1 guy a race, get the number of points he earned, and cant use a guy twice right?
Spoon is in a pool like this for money that I wanna get in this year, so Im down for this as a good practice type thing.

its set up exactly like the golf league spoonie
pick 2 and start 1 driver for a
pick 4 and start 2 drivers for b
pick 2 and start 1 driver for c

Can you use a guy up to 10 times?
I've done every fantasy sport but golf and nascar so I'll give it a try.
Need it to hold me over until baseball.
Ok, explain this to me.
Every week you pick 8 drivers and make four of them active. Is that how it works? What's the point in picking inactive drivers? Do you only get 8 drivers for the whole season?

each week you pick what ever drivers you want
each driver can only be used a max of 10 starts
theres no point in picking in active ones, i'd advise against it since you'll get no points
you only get points for a guy you started
over the course of the season you'll most certainly use more than 8 drivers

you pick the other ones giving you a choice for that weekends race
for example lets say you picked gordon and jimmie johnson
and you were gonna start gordon but he crashes on friday qualifying and has to start 43rd but jimmie qualified 4th
you might wanna put jimmie in instead of gordon
or you just may pick 2 drivers and one guy doesnt qualify and you can put the other guy in
Oh.
So you have to make your picks before qualifying. That makes sense.
Cool. I got it. Sounds fun.

I dont mind this. Spoon's is the best one
You pick one guy a race. You cant use a guy more then once. Whatever amount of cup points that guy earned that day, you get that in the pool. End of year it goes by total points. Basically it just mirrors real life but with a diff driver each week

that does sound cool
makes it tough with 36 races and only 40-50 drivers
I like this way better. I don't want to be picking nothing but scrubs for the last 10-15 weeks.

thats what made it fun for him though. He would tell me each week who he had and shit. it would come down to really readin up on race histories for drivers and shit, and sometimes takin a chance and hopin to get lucky. Plus it brings in stradegy cause you can always try to hang in with lesser guys and save the names for the end of the year when you need to make a push

yeh i guess you do need a bit of strategy there
it also comes into play here since you can only start guys 10x the whole season

sounds like fun and a good way for me to NOT lose money like I did last year at work....
Yahoo (http://racing.fantasysports.yahoo.com/auto)
I think this link (http://racing.fantasysports.yahoo.com/auto/register/joingroup) takes you to the registration site. Not sure. Join the private group.

I'm in!
This time I won't miss the first few races so you guys are in trouble! I'm a vet fan now (1 whole year!!) so look out.
And Snoogs, I totally agree with your feelings on the two different forms but I truly think it was the money that really made me like the other one better. This one is the way most are run, and my main issue is that it involves qualifying and you can't make moves (mostly) right up to the start time. Also, I really don't like having 4 horses in the race. It's much more fun to have one guy to root for as opposed to tracking 4 f'n guys.
Nascar and sites like Yahoo should realize that it sets up better than any other sport for fantasy outside of NFL. It's usually once a week (sometimes every two weeks) and truthfully only one day a week to pay attention to (race day if run my buddy's fantasy way). So Nascar should really push it more in hopes of bringing in fans, bc I never thought I'd be into racing, and now here I am.
I enjoyed both sites, but this one just seems diluted in a sense bc of the four racers per week and using them twice is odd. As for the limited number of racers via only being able to use each once, strategy is obviously key as Snoogans mentioned. However, the number of racers is much higher over the course of the year then you think bc of guys like Fellows and other road specialists and it's key to use them there. Others only qual at short tracks, some at speed tracks and then of course you always have your top 20 or more at every race. It's a fucking blast and everyone here is welcome to play. I'll post the site and my response from the 2008 Nascar thread next. My buddy runs it (on my hockey team) so you can rest assured that it's legit. And hell, it's only $25 bucks.

You guys and all other fans are welcome to join the big NASCAR Pool/Fanatasy at http://www.Oaklandfantasyracing.com. It's only $25 for the year and it's a ton of fun. A buddy from my hockey team runs it and people from all over the country (about 200 or more) play every year. I finished 8th last year and got a free spot for 2008 because of it. All you do is pick a racer each week and get the exact points they earn. And of course you can't pick anyone twice.
Go check the site out for fun and see what you think. Once it gets closer to the season you'll be able to see the whole site. If anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me.
* I hope you don't mind me posting this here CJ, but I thought you would be one of the guys with a lot of interest as well.
Also, might I suggest we all use some part of our screen names for our team name (on both sites/leagues) so we know who is who. I always hate not knowing who I'm crushing!

I think it's 9 times you can start each driver unless they changed it this year??..Spoon the key to this is lets say your A driver for instance..Pick one you think you would like to race and the other..Like lets say any driver who qualifies well ..You get qualifying points if there in there they don't have to be your starter(Another Important point the 9 rule only counts for starters not the drivers ya have on the bench)......same with b and c drivers Just remember on the road courses a lot of the teams use special course drivers it gives you a chance to use one of them without using one of your regular drivers....Keep an eye on guys in the top 35 from last year they are guaranteed a spot for the first few races...Don't put your self in a position on your c drivers where ya have 2 that don't make the race:annoyed: Hope this helps any questions or help myself and all the people above will help ya..
