is a bio pic based on his autobiography
why the fuck do they keep making bio pics of artists when there are such better stories out there?

this movie is fucking incredible
i would love to see Turturro play him in a bio pic
or even a mini series on hbo
i mean some of this stuff just cant be translated well through 5 min blips and really deserve to be seen as a full motion show

really inspiring

(this movie is making me a communist)

I've translated the above post.

Patsopinion has seen this movie and may or may not want you to talk about it.

Howard Zinn: You Can't Be Neutral on a Moving Train (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416825/)

I have never read Zinn's "A Peoples History of the United States", nor know much about him, but I'll netflix this film and check it out.

Wasn't Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky two of the guys in Buzz's lemonparty photo?

Eh. I listened to a people's history of the united states(read by Matt Dillon) and wasn't impressed.

I read "A People's History of the United States" in college (for fun, not part of a class) and I enjoyed it. It's also mentioned in "Good Will Hunting"

i tried listening to that too and I also just couldnt get into it, the book though, an amazing read and fascinating take on american history. Should be required reading in most college history courses and even high school, especially for teachers such as myself.

I thought that's what he was talking about. I saw it a few years ago, and it's a very compelling film. I didn't read "A People's History...", but I read some similar post-modern/revisionist whatever history texts for this one class I took. My favorite was "Lies My Teacher Told Me" by James Loewen.
