I love it so, but I have definately noticed that replacing my usual three beers a night with a couple of glasses of red wine has slimmed me down a bit.

Might also be that I'm unemployed because of the writer's strike and actually have the time to work out every day. But you can't argue that, as wonderful as it is, beer is the fat man's best friend.

I used to drink beer a lot but over the past year or so i have made a full turn and have started to drink red wine whenever available or when the moods strikes.

It gives me a better feeling minus the nasty hangover the next day.

I knew the beer had to go, so first I started on a vodka diet, but now I'm onto whiskey and soda. I might have some miller lites (I used to avoid light beers like the plague), or if I'm feeling really accomplished, a real beer like Sam Adams sometimes, but you're right. Beer = Fatty

I should lock this offensive-titled thread on principle.

Ever since I became a distinguished gentleman I rarely drink beer. It's mainly scotch or red wine for me. I'm no snob, however. I can fully understand the appeal of the suds for you common folk.

Regardless of what you choose (beer or wine), both will add empty calories and slow your metabolism.

Granted there are some health benefits to wine but the alcohol slowing the body's metabolism is something you need to keep in mind.
