January 5th: 222
January 14th: 219.

I suspect that part of the weight was some left over water retention from the holidays. But for the last week, I've been really good with my eating and with my exercise.

Which is good because my doctor told me last week my cholesterol is a little on the high side and I may need meds if I can't get it down.

Back to the gym again. Took me 5 months to get over my Ankle trouble, but I am back!!

I have been going two times a week for the last month, but now I have set up a schedule of 3 to 4 times a week.

Running a race in March (5K), May (10K), and joining NY Road runners (trying to qualify for a 2010 NYC Marathon) and get in shape for a Nov long distance run.

I gave up soda and coffee for the new year so waiting to see how much weight I can lose from that.

I've replaced my soda intake w/ fresh brewed iced tea and I've supplanted my coffee using 3 to 6 sugars, depending on the size of the cup, w/ tea using 1 sugar.

Interested to see if just those changes will amount to anything.

Finally started getting on the treadmill again after an almost 2 year hiatus (after having a baby). I don't have weight to lose but I am really soft and need to tone up. It felt really good to get active again even though it was only 20 minutes at a time for 4 days straight. I used to be obsessive about exercise and did over an hour a day, 7 days a week. I don't want to get like that again but I do look forward to wanting to exercise. There is just something so exhilarating about it.

Well, I have a race coming up in April so the weight should come off pretty easily. Now, of course that the football season is over which is my biggest reason for adding weight those months.

Tonight I'm 239. I'll be down 15 by St. Patty's day and 25 by the end of April.

The college I work at just started a Biggest Loser- Falculty and Staff so I signed up. $20 dollar entry- winner gets it all and there's about 30 entries. This is good because $600 is a good motivater...that, and the whole, health thing.

I have previously reported that i lost 50 pounds (270 - 220) in around 4 months.

I am at that difficult part of the process where the weight loss has slowed down to only a pound a week. I have been losing patience with the treadmill and eating vegetables.

I have to make sure i keep going, even though it seems it will take forever for the last 50 to go. This is when in the past, i have succombed to giving up and yo-yo-ing back up the scale and i really dont want that again.

I hate my fat genes. I hate you people who eat cake cart blanche and never gain a pound. I hope you go to hell and reincarnate as Walter Hudson.
(sorry - just the fucking brocolli talking).

I'm not going to set an unreasonable target for myself but i think if i set it at 10lbs and achieve it i will be more likely to reach 15 and so on until i lose the desired amount.

I'm with girl on this one....it just seems to make things SO much easier and that way you dont give up and also they say it's best if you set small goals instead of HUGE unobtainable/reachable goals. :)
And my starting weight is 198.

Weighed on December 30, 2008 for a physical: 228.

Weighed in a week ago: 211. Running, exercising, calistethics, plus some new thryoid medicine has caused me to drop weight fast. I feel great lately. Arms getting tone and definition back. Good times

Went to the docs for a bruised tailbone (checking to make sure it wasn't a break.) Weighed in at 260! I'm a pretty big dude to start with. Not horrible fat, but being laid off for the past month I spent alot of time in front of the computer and not moving that much. I noticed my breathing was getting heavier, and heart beating harder at rest. Flier came in the mail for a local gym. Joined the day after I turned 29, could barely do 20 min. Week and a half later cardio has improved a bunch, met with trainer today to set up a weight routine, re starting South Beach with my wife the first of March. Really excited. Would love to get back down to 220 with more muscle than I have now. I don't want to be 30 and fat.

After losing 16 lbs last year, I put 10 lbs back on in the last 9 months. Wasn't able to work out in the mornings (which is the only time I can) really due to my daughters' sleep patterns. However, their patterns are now back to normal and I've been working out the last two days with some yoga, running, push-ups, plank exercises and pull-ups. Plus, I'm getting EA Sports Active.

So, right now I'm at 220. I'd like to get back to 210 in three months (or September 18th).

Let's see how it goes.

As of this Wednesday I've lost a total of 5.2 lbs in 2 weeks. Not too shabby, considering I haven't been getting as much walking in as I would like.

Last night I was able to comfortably wear a pair of pajamas that haven't fit well on me since my second month of pregnancy.

I'm at 219 today. I'm not losing as fast as I wish I was, especially since I've been working out 5-6 days a week for the last three weeks.

I've been eating pretty well, but apparently not good enough.

Around January I was 190. Ive started hitting the gym 3 to 5 times a week since then and I was down to about 170 at one point. Now I am up to 178 but its mostly because I have been adding muscle.

Ive also recently taken up Brazilian Jujitsu which is a great workout in itself.

Since my back injury I gained weight. I started taking prescription Human Growth Hormone (Norditropin) to help burn fat and I gained muscle weight. Went off the HGH because a side effect for me was Carpal Tunnel. I may start again on a lower dose. Shit is amazing...Stallone was right!

Now I'm 5'8, I weigh 240. I want to be 190. Need to get rid of pot gut (as opposed to beer gut)

Ed, I noticed you have been posting again and was wondering how you did with that disk implant. Did you ever get it and is the back pain stil there? Losing weight will help for sure. I need to lose weight, and when I was lighter, my pain went away. Now I am fat and I have pain.

I dropped 13 pounds in about 3 months - lots of cardio and strict calorie counting - but I've done some traveling in the past couple of weeks and plateau'ed, then slipped back, gaining 6 pounds.

Now I'm really hitting it hard to put through that barrier and drop another 15. Then I'll be lean and mean.

(a tip: there is a free app for the iphone called "just lose it", where you can log all the calories burned during exercise and add all the calories you consume on a daily basis. It's brilliant and really easy. And eye opening if you've never tracked how much you actually eat before. Most of us just eat too much)

With the scale packed in storage since we moved, I haven't weighed myself and I'm nervous of what i may have gained. As long as I keep it between 180-190 I'm happy.

For me it was a long term lifestyle change.

I started on Sept 1, 2008 at 275 pounds, and 11 months later im at 185.
My 1 year anniversary is coming up and i just want get there without slipping ( i try not to focus on the numbers on the scale, just the food going in to my mouth.)

I hope i can keep it going and going until im down to college weight of 160 (im 5"7).

Now this HGH someone mentioned sounds interesting, but isnt that the same steroids thats illegal in pro sports? arent there numerous health hazards accosiated with them?
