I have 4 mainboard SATA ports, and 2 Sata DVD drives, and 3 SATA HDD's. So I bought a SATA PCI card, and installed it. Booted up, installed the drivers, and my computer only detects one of the dvd drives connected. From what I gather from these instructions, I can leave it alone to have the 2 internal ports available by default. Here is a scan of the instructions, am I wrong????

Run a copper wire jammed into your power supply and then press the other end of the wire into the jumper. Your computer will thank you.

PCI is connected to the frontside bus. Depending on your CPU/Motherboard it is usually about a fifth to a third of the speed of your cpu which far outpaces the SATAII.

I personally avoid having more than 4 SATA devices. All I need is 1 DVD Burner and 2 HDs. The spare SATA port I used for another E-SATA (front controller with fan control).

At this point mudeater, get yourself a new mobo with more SATA ports.

Without knowing your specs of your chips, RAM, etc, here's a 6 SATA port mobo that's decent. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131149

Btw, no clue on the rules of linking. If it's an issue, I have no prob with a mod deleting the link.
