It always amazed me how lightly suicide by self-inflicted gunshot was treated back in the day.

Nobody could afford carpets or rugs back then. The blood was easier to clean up.

Disney sure was an unfunny snitch.

Oh, I see. It's an efficiency issue. Makes sense.

And who was this "slicker" Minnie was getting it on with? Is that some sort of old-timey word for "you-know-what?"

Just to clarify, those aren't actually by Disney...his named was slapped on all of their products, but this strip was actually done by the great Floyd Gottfredson. He's pretty much the unsung Carl Banks, for all the other comics uber-nerds out there.
And yeah, these aren't that funny...except for the first strip. Probably the greatest last panel ever in a daily newspaper comic strip.

Nah, "Slicker" was apparently his name.
Though a lot of the strips from that era often ended up being a little, uh "racially broad," so who knows?

Carl Banks was pretty unsung compared to LT and Harry Carson.

Crap. I meant Carl Barks. My undying love for Carlton Banks strikes again.

I can't help putting Mickey's voice into all those comics, now I have the haunting squeaky voice saying "Goodbye Cruel World" in my head.
Yeesh, that sounds a bit disturbing when I read that back.
