I have been using this for a while now to transcode files to wmv so that I can stream them on my XBOX 360. Worked fine, great quality video. This Christmas I got 2 500gb SATA hard drives, and one 300. So I backed everything up on the old EIDE and reinstalled windows and the video converter on the new hard drive. Oh I also have a new 512mb nvidia directx 10 video card as well.
Anyway now when transcoding to wmv the program either crashes or stops at around 5% (no matter how long I let it sit). I updated all my drivers, and as far as I now, downloaded all the codecs. Ideas? Another program that is a lot slower and I don't like as much transcodes fine.

If you're not going to post in English, I can't be expected to help you.
Try re-installing it.
You may have to change its settings.
It could be a conflict with your nvidia card.
You may need to remove patches or manually edit the registry.
Do you have a HP?
Kerio Firewall?
DVD43 ?
It may be a conflict with another slower program?
Is 5% the percentage equal to RAM Size(not video card size) divided by File Size times 100?

HP Hewlett Packard?
No, I built the computer
Kerio Firewall?
No
DVD 43?
Yes
The 5% that it stops at was just a number I threw out there, it stops at different percentages every time (between 1.5 and 10)
There aren't many settings that I can change in the program, I've already reinstalled it twice.
What registry changes?
mudeater upgraded to SATA from EIDE hardrives on his computer and in doing so, re-installed windows. Now he wants to stream video files to his XBOX 360 but RER video converter hangs.
I am assuming windows xp.
First I would try to uninstall DVD43 because it is known to cause other conflicts and reinstall RER. Other programs may be causing a conflict as well.
If you need to transcode for New Years, I have heard TVersity is decent.

I really don't know if this applies to you but you since you may have nvidia drivers that are affected ??:

I just tried dragging all my files in my completed torrent download folder into my "my videos" folder, and it said operation could not be completed because the file is in use, maybe that was the problem... can't tell until this dvd is finished burning
