"Upgrading" a cell phone

I have the Blackberry Curve 8300 and I saw they now make a new one called the 8310 that has GPS built in and it is in new colors and I want it bad! But, I just got mine in June and would have to wait until next June to upgrade to a new model. So, I asked the guy at the AT&T booth in the mall and he said I could just buy the phone for like $450 or whatever. But thats way too expensive for me.
As luck would have it, I know this girl and I saw her using the new 8310 phone and she told me she bought it two weeks ago, but it turns out her female lover bought her the same one for Christmas in the color she wanted. I asked her and she said she would be willing to sell me her phone for $200.
I jumped at it and will get the phone from her on Monday.
Now, aside from the swaping out of the sim card, is there anything else I should do? I called AT&T and they told me it's a few more dollars a month for the GPS service.
I have a Mac and I cant seem to get the Blackberry to sinc with the Mac, even though I have PocketMac. I can sinc it with my other regular PC though, but it is all apart right now due to my recent flood.
If I could get the other one together for a sinc, will it save all my appointments and stuff in my calendar to the new phone once I sinc the new one up?
Am I making a big mistake with the whole phone switch? I havent given her the money yet.

(I did ask her if there are any nude photos of her and her gf and she said she would remove them :down:)

I didn't really read all that, but I think I got the gist of it. So you are gonna pay $200 for some lesbian porn? Although it is amatuer porn, which is a definite plus, I think you could probably hit up craigs list and get alot more then just pics for $200.

So in conclusion, I think it's not worth it. :thumbup:

Im not a tech early adpoter here so take what I say for what its worth
You have a pretty much state of the art phone that you bought a half a year ago that is now a little behind the time (anything that is 8300 to 8310 cant be that big a difference) that you will have to boondoggle into operation (swapping sim cards, sincing etc) and you feel is too expensive for you to buy in full ($200vs $450) You said that in June you could upgrade with out trouble that may be even a 8340 by that time that will be less expensive!!! Plus as soon as you make the switch technology will add something that you won't have in the 8310.
