Georges wins by TKO not sure which round but ill say 4th
Soko i am praying beats Machida by KO first round, if it goes the full length Machida wins because thats his game he likes picking apart his opponents and not letting them get going, but he has never faced someone like Soko who puts constant pressure on you the entire fight. This could also be the fight of the night in my opinion.
Gulliard by KO in 1st or 2nd.

Now the Silva/Liddell fight. Both coming off knock outs, Liddell still partying, Silva now training with Xtreme Couture. Silva's chin is not great, but Liddells aint amazing either. Silva has a better clinch, but also swings wildly all the time. Liddell is a great counter puncher which is how he won majority of his fights. If Silva goes crazy and not pick his spots, Liddell will definitely catch him and Silva's chin will not be able to handle it. But if Silva can put constant pressure on Liddell and not get caught he has a chance. If it goes to the ground, Silva has the advantage. I am rooting for Silva but I think Liddell catches him when he starts to throw wild punches.

It's a great card but will it beat 78 for action? We'll have to watch to find out.

I'm pulling for Liddell but I think the odds will be with Silva early in the match. With Liddell coming off of two losses I'm worried that he might punk out like Arlovski has lately. If the fight goes past the first round I think he'll be the better man, but that's a big "if".

As much as I want to see the two Matt's face off later this year I can't root against GSP. I met him at UFC 57 and he's truly a nice guy and you can't deny his talent. That being said, I think the "interim title" is a bullshit concept since Serra is just out for an injury. The UFC is compromising the sport's integrity because they want to deliver on the title fight promised throughout the Ultimate Fighter show. A more honest approach would have been to officially downgrade this to the #1 contender fight that we all know it is.

Anyway, I'll be watching.

Anyway, I'll be watching. I totally agree with you, and of coarse being a fellow Canadian I`m pulling for JSP;although anything can happen in this style of fighting. The interim title is bullshit. When Sara beat JSP last time I was upset to say the least; that being said I was happy it was Sara because he shows and gives respect unlike the cocky Matt Hughs.

Silva is also coming off to huge KO losses though too, one to Cro-Cop and one to Hendo

While I might agree to a point about the "interim" title, I can't get mad that we are going to get a 5 round fight between GSP and Hughes. Serra will be introduced as champion in his next fight, so its not a real big deal to me.

As for action, I think it will be action packed with Liddell and Silva two of the better strikers in the game (I do think they might come out slow though) St. Pierre and Hughes will be awesome. I'm worried about the Machida fight, but from what I hear this Soko guy is an agressive striker so that could turn into a good fight. Melvin Guillard fights don't go past the first, he either gets sub'd in 30 seconds like the Joe Stevenson fight or he knocks someone the F out!

I'm upset that the Dean Lister fight might not be televised, I like watching him, so good on the ground.

you have never seen Soko's fights??? You need to go to youtube and look for his fights against Little Nog and Arona. He KO's both in the first round and both were ranked in the top 10 for LHW. And if people say he is similar to Houston Alexander and has no ground game are crazy because Soko is also a world class judokan and has some wrestling background as well.

Yeah, I know he's ranked in the top 10 LHWs in the world, but I've never seen any of his fights, he's only got 4 or 5 right? I'll probably check them out before the PPV tomorrow night.

I heard he was a tremendous striker, so I'm hoping that he comes out and knocks Machida out.

He has 5 fights. He is a good striker, just has alot of power it seems. Knocked out Little Nog and Arona so its pretty damn good.

But this all fits into Machidas game plan, because Machida is the master of counter punching and moving when he needs to. It should be an amazing technical fight as all Machida fights are.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to this card too.

I can see why they're putting an interim tag on the GSP/Hughes fight. It won't matter if Serra recovers and fights the winner anyway. But if he can't fight, then the winner of this fight is the champion of the vacated title. I don't know the answer to this question: is there another fighter that would deserve to fight for a vacated title OTHER THAN GSP or Hughes?

Plus, let's face it, it's a big name fight. I don't see it going 5 rounds, and I hope GSP knocks that hayseed the fuck out.

Jon Fitch probably deserves a title shot soon, of course not more then GSP or Hughes, but its close. I see him fighting the winner of the next WW title fight.

I hate Matt Hughes but he's got a book coming out in January that I'm gonna have to read. Has anyone read the excerpts that have been released? Sounds like it will be an entertaining read.

Liddell on ESPN.com:

But Chuck, is it possible, just maybe, that your best days are behind you, that at 38, the reflexes might have eroded a smidge, that your sell-by date has passed?
"I don't think so," he answered. "I'm on it, I'm sharp and my training is going great."
As for his last fight, against the "Dean of Mean," Liddell admits that he wasn't as pumped as he might be against someone like Silva, with whom he has flirted with for several years.
"It was hard to get up for that fight," he said. "Maybe I didn't get fired up enough for Jardine."

Fuck you Chuck. You got beat. Don't go back and say that you weren't "fired up" for Jardine. Fuck you. I hope you get your brain rattled.

Lyoto just cemented how dominant he really is. Completely dominated Soko the entire fight. I do not know if Rampage could stop him he has such a technical style, fast, elusive and perfect accuracy. Boring but great fighter.

GSP thoroughly dominated Hughes beyond belief, scored every takedown stuffed every takedown attempt by hughes, was in full mount or half guard the whole time.

Won by armbar, matt verbally tapped.

GSP is so strong and amazing.

I totally agree PhishHead! GSP is the future of the welter weight. I was happy to hear that Hughes was humble enough to addmit that GSP was the better fighter and that he had no excuse. Hopefully Matt Sara will be able to recover and return from his injury; then it will and should be a good fight with GSP getting the proper title belt;not the interm like he said. I would also like to say that the very last fight that Gamburian won was not because of GOD. GOD has not a fuckin thing to do with two fighters kickin the shit out of each other.Let alone breaking a mans leg. I am sick and tired of hearing fighters say "I would like to thank GOD" bull! And last but not least when is the UFC going to come to Canada?

I'm actually more of a St. Pierre fan, mainly because I don't like he whole farm boy routine that Hughes does. GSP is much more professional with training and fighting. The decision on the Liddell fight is kind of shocking though. I was almost positive Silva was gonna knock him out. Good for Chuck, though. I was worried about his career had he lost.

Great fights last night, from beginning to end.

I can't stand Gallard, and I was really fucking happy that Clememti submitted him. Melvin has a 10 cent head and all that talent, and he keeps getting schooled. I thought it was funny that he wanted to fight AFTER he tapped out. Dude, you just had your chance to fight, and you blew it.

Chuck won in classic Chuck style. Those fights where they just stalk each other get boring after a while, but it was a good fight.

GSP pounded lumps on Hughes. Hell yeah.

I was impressed with Soko for looking like a fighter, that predator mask was hilarious. I'm very surprised how clueless he was on his back though. You'd think Dan Henderson would have had him training on the ground against a fighter like Machida. You can tell Soko has alot of power though, if he can get some kind of ground game he'll be pretty good.

We should now see a Machida/Thiago Silva fight, both undefeated brazilians. Who you got Phish?

Did everyone notice that Chuck was doing more stalking then normal? He really wasn't going to sit back and wait for Silva. That second round was killer! I think if Silva wasn't so intent on banging with Chuck that he could have taken him to the ground and used his bjj. I think he just wanted to put on a slug fest for the fans, gotta love Silva for that. I wish Chuck would have tried to finish Silva instead of going for the take down at the end. But you can't fault him for that, Silva still could have caught him.

St. Pierre just throughly dominated Hughes, that sweep he did where he just tossed Hughes down like a rag doll was awesome! I don't think anyone can beat St. Pierre at 170, he's just too strong and his wrestling has improved so much that a Fitch won't be able to dominate him wrestling.

Do you see St. Pierre beating Serra and Fitch then moving up to 185? I would love to see a St. Pierre/Anderson Silva fight. That is if Silva can beat Dan Henderson.

Id rather see Machida against Chuck to figure out the top contenders. But I think Machida would handle Thiago.

Fitch may be able to beat St. Pierre. It still all depends which GSP shows up. The good one or the one that is mental. I do not think GSP moves to 185 but I think Silva and Him may fight at a catch weight. Around 180 or so.

Silva vs Hendo should be good though I wouldn't count out Hendo. He has a good chin and is smart.

I think the thing with Soko is he is still young and only has had 5 fights in his entire MMA career. He is onyl 23. They never should had fed him to a lion like Lyoto, Lyoto has beaten Penn, Franklin Bonnar and a ton of other guys, and not just beat but dominate them. They should have treated Soko like any other 4-1 fighter and put him against someone with similar experience. UFC does that though they take phenoms and burn them out instead of building them up. Look what they did to Houston. He had no business being in that fight. They need the youngins to fight guys that are of the same caliber not automatically throw them in against proven warriors hoping for a knockout.

I think Soko does have a ground game evident by the fact that he fought off alot of subs before finally letting the last one in, but I think Lyoto is just that good.
