so im at the theater the other day and there was an extended ad for the "new" American gladiators show

in the upcoming wake of the writers strike there will be plenty of reality shows and i hope that they all fall flat on their ass

is it wrong to really pull for a show or movie to flop?

I say it is OK to hope things flop. Especially when you are talking about an overdone, hack genre of "entertainment," it is particularly welcome to hope the stupid thing blows up on the launch pad.

I'm horrified that you had to watch a commercial for a shitty reality show in a movie theatre.

Me too, and there's also a fucking stupid long ad for the National Guard before movies now, with an idiotic song by 3 Doors Down. I mean, it's ultrashitty, with ye olde Patriots running through the forest with muskets.

i hate most 'reality' shows, but at least the new american gladiators is a game, as opposed to following around some washed-up idiot celeb with a camera crew as they go about their <strike>staged</strike> real lives.

What happened to pats opinion?

He got everybody mad at him, so now he's in disguise as "Pat O".

He's not very good with disguises.

What happened to pats opinion?

he rejects any reality in which he is not a ninja... so he's probably turned invisible right now.

I hope the new celebrity apprentice fails.
That pompous ass Trump needs to realize when to quit.

The National Guard ads are almost as bad as those "Pass it on..." PSAs from the Foundation for a better life or something they put out a few years back.

Seriously - and it makes me feel curmudgeonly to write this - the ads they play before movies keep me from going to movies. I really really really have to be motivated by wanting to see something in the theater to go these days.

I don't mind paying 11 bucks, because things cost money, but when I pay 11 bucks to sit and watch ads then I feel like a sucker, and the only way I can control that is to vote with my feet.
