I gave in after a couple years and actually got one for Christmas. What can I say, Sony really dropped the ball... So how the hell do you crazy kids hook up one of these infernal machines to the internets? I wanna check on the google from the comfort of my television screen.

Was it a wise purchase or should I have waited awhile? Finally, what games do those of you who have the system play?

You can't really browse the internet on the xbox 360, the internet adapter is for online play, and downloading stuff from microsoft like game updates, games, demos, videos and for streaming video, pictures and music from your pc to the 360. I have a 32" toshiba that I bought 2 years ago, and I also have trouble reading text on the screen for some games because it's so small.

You missed the boat. Only the Wii and PS3 have internet browsers.

It also doesn't have a built in wireless adapter. if you want to use it on a wireless network you'll have to buy an adapter.

Dude, i got the XBOX last year and tried it on a regular TV for only a day. It sucked (I too could not read the text on Dead Rising). So, I went out and completely lost my mind and got a 46" HD Aquos 1080p for a 12 by 12 bedroom. I swear I can feel my retinas burning sometimes. Anyway, it was like seeing a pussy for the first time - unfuckin believable! Since then I have obtained the PS3 and now I really have no reason to leave my home. ENjoy!

When you get XBox live, the 360 goes through your PC and you can use it to play any 'movies' that you've downloaded on your PC. It also plays music on your PC.

I am still playing the missions. I have a question about the on line play. have they figured out how to keep everyone from using stupid cheat codes. Its really not fun

I would say that i have not run into a single cheater in the game. This game is light years in front of the cheaters and glitchers that play games like Halo 3

This game is more about getting better through leveling up and getting better perks, trust me you start low and will hate all of the martyrdom grenades until you can use that perk same with the claymore mines

im playing on a 47inch flat screen sony thats about 5 years old. we got it just as HD, plasma and LCD was hitting the markets so we didnt really know much about it

the tv is huge and kick ass for games, i can read text perfectly. but im going back to school in jan so i cant afford to buy an HD set, i cant wait to finish school and make that my graduation gift to myself

I got i maybe 16-20 months ago so its covered by the warranty deal they have

Never had any problems until 4 days ago when it started sounding like it was struggling at start up

And i had it Horizontal on a glass shelf in a colder area

It just happens and RB6:LV2 comes out on March 18th so i doubt i will have it back in time which makes me bitter

Especially with RB6LV:2 now out and GTA IV at the end of the month and now that they have announced 15 different multiplayer modes for that game it should be silly and i dont want to miss out

My original Xbox started doing that. It pretty much got to the point where it wouldn't open at all until the third try.

And I didn't bother with sending my 360 away when I got the Red Rings, mine was still covered from Best Buy or Circuit City or wherever I bought it and I just took it back. I was sad to see all of my progress gone, but it beats going months without a system.

I dunno, people are laughing at the fact msft paid 50 mil for exclusive content(DLC) like it's just going to be typical extra cars and a couple missions. According to lazlow the DLC is not that but entire new cities with complete new stories and missions. Considering the 360 was the lead console, it was finished first and it was ready to go last fall they may have time to work on that extra content. Could be great and it could be ehh but it certainly will be at least as good as the PS3 version. Also the multiplayer should be better on Xbox because more people use it online than the PS3.

Another thing is the Xbox version is the only one they're running around giving demo's with so far, they must be fairly confident with that version. Alot of big games for both consoles have hit the market with bugs that left them almost unplayable.

I'm a HUGE HUGE lifelong fan of Console Role Playing Games (RPG's), and this game is in line with the old Final Fantasy games from the Super Nintendo. It is made by the guy who made those game. Excellent story, superb music, and classic Console RPG goodness (random battles, simple command menu with attack, item, etc.).

A+ goodness.

PS3 is losing a lot of their exclusivity titles that were supposed to carry them over XBOX like FFXIII, SoulCaliber and there was one other big one.

While XBox is keeping their exclusives with Halo (Halo Wars and Halo 2.5 coming soon), Bioshock for most parts is exclusive (i mean a year later to PS3 says something), Gears of War and there is one other i cant remember

And a lot of companies are coming out saying that the PS3 is very difficult to program to.

Plus like i said its all about the achievements and you know that

I think the sad thing is that Sony knew it was going to happen and kept it from the public to up their sales, i mean they were touting the PSHome when it launched however long ago and like Missy said 6 months ago they said it would be ready and its not

Yeah, that's the one. That and Lair were bad, but the rest of PS3's big titles are really good. Uncharted was incredible. Not enough to sell systems but still great. If PS3 had a larger install base it would be huge. Warhawk, Resistance, MGS4, Ratchet and Clank and the SOCOM games are all big games. And they have Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, Killzone 2 and InFamous coming out next year. And I'm still skeptical that FF13 will be released on 360 and PS3 at the same time from the way they are talking about development. They said they aren't even going to begin 360 development until its released in Japan. I think a Rock Band 2 type delay of a month to maybe even a few months might happen.

Of course none of this will save Sony but the PS3 has a fine library in its own right.

Metal Gear Solid 4, but everyone figured it would be on xbox 6-12 months later, following the last generation. And was confirmed around launch time.

The only real PS3 exclusives are Sony developed games (Resistance, Little Big Planet, etc.), and games by Sony associated dev houses (Naughty Dog's Daxter games), and the only one that really appeals to me is LBP.

I can't see how LBP won't be a big disappointment given all the hype it's had as being PS3's savior. Sony's really lost this generation in terms of exclusives.

And all the work Sony's done trying to catch PSN up to XBox Live will be erased when the new XBox Live comes out in November. Sony will be a step and a half behind.

Loved Lost Odyssey, it's such a well done and emotional story. And I played Eternal Sonata, wasn't too big a fan of that. If you want a good action RPG title, try out Tales of Vesperia, it is amazing.

I think it did the comedy stuff like GTA should have. All through the game I was laughing at what was going on and the side game were fun. GTA has it beat in the technical aspects of the game, but they did a great job to make up for it.

Yeah. The smaller the monsters are the creepier they are. I'll leave it at that.

God damn it is a creepy fucking game. One of the enemies that creep me out, are those tall creepers (with the hand scythes) that are tougher than the normal ones.

It's like a scary and mroe fucked up Bioshock. Issac even looks like a Big Daddy too.

Most definetly. Health bar is right on your back. Most story scenes are done through a hologram (real time). And maps and inventory management is also done through a hologram (real time also). There are a lot of moments that'll make you jump. Not only that, but some of the objectives have a good variation. All I'll say is, Chapter 5 (for now).

I've been beta-testing the new Xbox Live Experience, their new Xbox Live platform. Boy is it really really nice

Super slick and super fast going through the menus. It took some getting used to, but it is well worth it. It looks fantastic, specially on 1080p.

Creating an avatar was a snap, and it looks like there have plenty of room for expansion. It looks to me like you will be able to download new get-ups and possible upload your own. Perhaps you can get them from games too, would be awesome to game in Gears of War armor.

Being able to view what games you are playing and have played, and have access to all downloads, pictures, videos of said title is really really awesome. You can also install select titles onto your hard drive, to cut down on load times and slow down that dvd drive from constantly spinning. This last feature is excellent, and any load time cut (no matter how big or small) helps out. System puts off less heat from this overall.

I'm about to dive into various other features and I will let you all know how it goes.

The Netflix is streaming, so it doesn't require much extra disk space. It's pretty cool, but the selection is still limited. And it's kinda clunky how you have to queue things up on the compute first instead of just selecting a title on the xbox and hitting play.

If you already have Netflix, it's definitely worth using. But I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep it once my two week trial is up.

This is why I never sell my stuff back to Gamestop. I hate the fact that they buy a game from you for $20, then sell it for $55 to the next customer to walk through the door. If I'm really done playing a game, I'll sell it on eBay. It takes a little more work, but you'll get a lot more money for your games, AND it's in cash, not store credit.

But I don't have a problem buying games from Gamestop - you can get some really good deals, especially when they send out their coupons over email.

Got a 46" Sony Bravia LCD for Christmas. Only have the component out on my XBox, but it still looks awesome in 1080p. Hooked up my netflix account as well, decent selection there, and they buffer fairly quickly.

Also have over 800 avi's on my computer that stream the the 360 now, and over 50 seasons of various shows.

Even if you aren't a gamer, the 360 price is comparable to most of the media extenders out there, and you get the HD, so I don't know why anyone would want a media extender.

I usually only play Tiger Woods 09 online, which is great.

I like Saint's Row 2 better than GTA IV, and Fable 2 is a lot of fun, they have a creative way to play co-op online, but the reviews are mixed on it.

I have to admit I have barely touched my GTA IV. I guess I got all caught up in the hype and once you kill random pedestrians the game is "ehhh" at best. I have gotten into th Gears of War and Fallouts since then.

Newest muse with 360 is Tiger Woods 09...Balanced is too easy, hard is sometimes too hard. Difficult to find that right mixture

When I first got GTA IV I played pretty much nonstop for 2 weeks and got 100% complete and then played through the game again to get the 30 Hour Playthrough Achievement and after that, I couldn't pick the game up again. So when I got rid of a bunch of games to fund my 360 upgrade, I got rid of it too. Needless to say, I won't be playing The Lost and the Damned.

For some reason, I've played through Fallout 3 twice and I've never gotten bored with it. Right now I'm taking a break until the next batch of content comes out and then I'll pick up and start playing through all the side quests I still have and finish the main game when the level cap is raised and the ending is removed.

Burnout Paradise is a good game, I bought it and have enjoyed it. Bioshock was a great game that should be old enough that you could get it.

I'm currently awaiting a match on Burnout but it turns out that I need to wait awhile for a trade. I have a feeling that they are having a lot of trades because of recent DLC releases. As for Bioshock, my brother owns it so I'll just borrow from him when he's done.

I really liked Lost Planet. The whole idea of being on a frozen planet trying to collect thermal energy as you go along was interesting and the mech segments were really fun. I doubt you'd be able to get a game, but the multiplayer was also fun.

Being the idiot that I am, I accidentally deleted my profile from my Xbox today and after I recovered it, I discovered that all of my saved games were deleted with it. I lost another full game of Fallout 3 along with with the saved game from Fable 2 that I was holding onto and all of the progress that I had made in Star Ocean.

This really pisses me off because the new Fallout content is about to be released and I really don't feel like doing all the shit I had done over again. I guess I'll wait until all of the packs come out and I have nothing else to play to try playing through it again.
