Im sure this was discussed already but i couldnt find it.

Which is a better choice - XBOX 360 or Playstation 3?

I currently play games on my PC and only play FPS and occasionally 3rd Person shooters. My PC cant play the new games and i cant afford a new gaming PC.

1) Are gaming consoles that much worse than PC ?
2) Which one is most like playing Half-Life, No One lives Forever, PainKiller etc..on PC ?
3) Is the controller hard to get used to? (i love keyboard - mouse)
4) Can you play TFC2 on a console against players using a PC. is it easy to hook up to DSL modem?

I would be playing on a regular 27 inch TV.

PS. played F.E.A.R demo at circuit city on an HP PC and it was a hecka lotta fun.

1. Not much worse, especially if you have an HDTV. It's still Ok on a standard Tv but you just aren't going to make up the resolution difference.

2. They are both the same.

3. Kinda. I still prefer the keyboard and mouse. There are certain FPS on PS3 that will allow you to plug in your USB mouse and keyboard and use them in the game. you'll have to check each individual game to see if it supports that. I'm not sure if that's the case on the 360 but I don't see why not.

Most FPS on the consoles are designed differently anyway on consoles to compensate for the lack of precision when using a controller. The games are generally easier and use some sort of aim assist mechanism. If that doesn't bother you then console FPS will be no problem.

4. It's very easy to set up either console to the internet but you will only be able to play players on that specific console. The 360 has a more robust online experience with lots of options and in game alerts for when you can jump into a game with your friends. The PS3 doesn't have as many options but the online play is still very easy. Of course, you have to pay to play online with the 360 while it's free with the PS3.

after playing assassins creed on ps3 and halo 3 on xbox 360, i gotta give it to ps3. finally after a year of collecting dust, the ps3 is finally earning its keep. hopefully mg4 will also keep ps3 the most realistic system. on the other hand tennis on wii is fantastic. but for my money-ps3.

yea from what im reading, as the developers get used to the ps3, they are gonna be able to make the games way better then they have been. Hopefully they can use that next year to save madden

Both systems are matching or surpassing 300$ Video Cards with 200$+ CPU and 300$+ necessary extras. that's an 800$ PC. Defiantly the time for a console. Upgrade your PC in 1/2 years and you'll then get bang for your buck as the consoles fall behind.

I'd go with the 360, it's the closest thing to a PC because it specializes in FPS and the controller is perfectly sensitive that you might actually prefer it to mouse and KB after a while. Although live is not free it's worth it at this point.

Unreal Tournament 3 is exclusive to the PS3 for a while and one thing it will have over the 360 version whenever it is released is that the PS3 version will allow for mods.
