My mom went zune crazy list year, and bought 4 of them for people in my family (not including me she knows i hate them) Now everyone wants me to help them get theirs installed and filled with music. Can't open the thing up as a drive and just drag and drop music in, want you to use their fucking software and buy from them, microsoft can eat my ass.

I went Zune crazy this year too. I bought myself and everyone in the family a zune. At first I didnt llike that it had to be used with software rather then just drag and drop. But now I love it and everyone in the family loves it. The software is simple. (well they became simple after a few minutes)

I love my Zune and would rather have a zune or any other mp3 player over a ipod. Everyone just wants an ipod for the name and the advertising. There are a lot of mp3 players thatr are better then an ipod. Gigabeat, zen visions, my zune, sandisk etc.

it is to navigate through the system. It is so much easier to go up, down, left and right then to use that piece of shit circular scroll thingy on the ipod. The controls are one of the reasons I hate the ipod. (plus its apple and the software sucks)

Its a little tricky to do, and find in the registry. But the point of the hack is so you don't have to do the stupid sync thing, you just open the zune in windows explorer, and the music folder in another instance of windows explorer. then you drag the music you want from the music folder into zune without going through WMP or Zune software. Here it is anyway

1. First off, unplug the Zune device from your computer and close the Zune software.
2. Click start and select "Run" to open up regedit. Type regedt32 and hit "OK".
3. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemControlSet001EnumUSB.
4. Search for "PortableDeviceNameSpace" in the "Vid_####&Pid_############_-_########_-_########_-_########Device Parameters" within the above …USB registry key. The "###" are used to replace the numbers and letters that individualize your copy of Zune.
5. Change the following values:
* EnableLegacySupport to 1
* PortableDeviceNameSpaceExcludeFromShell to 0
* ShowInShell to 1
6. Now plug in the Zune, and start the Zune Software.
7. You are now able to browse the digital media player via Windows Explorer.

I got the Ms. a 2 gig sansa for under $80. It is the same as the nano in almost every respect (except hers has an fm tuner). Just drag and drop, add album art, pictures of the kids, etc.
