At Mom's tonight:
pre-game
lots of Vino and some Heineken mini kegs
lots of hors d' ourves: deviled eggs, sausages, spinach puffs, shrimp, scallops w/bacon and foccaccia
I'm bringing the cheeses...I got a roaring forties bleu (australia), 5 counties cheddar (english) and a nice brie (french) and like 5 things of water crackers
dinner time
Served buffet style because there'll be like 30+ people:
fruit
salad
rolls
Fresh Ham (not the salty kind) & gravy
baked ziti
meatballs
mashed potatos
string bean casserole
dessert
raspberry cheesecake
assorted pies
homemade cookies (most of which are crap every year)
ice cream
strawberries
coffee and tea (and if I like you...I'll doctor up your coffee at the bar however you like it:wink:-I'll be making my own with a little Powers' Irish, some sugar and floating some "just barely whipped" cream on top)

Then after all of this I ususally discuss opening a 24 hour vomitorium somewhere in Bergen County

Merry Christmas

Whatever food is on the flight. Probably a microwaved sandwich and a miller lite. Not too shabby.

(Our family, Christmas eve dinner and Christmas breakfast is bigger deals than Christmas Dinner)

all the rest sounds great but a steamed fruit dish blows. My grandmother brought that and I had to fill up the plate with garbage so it looked like I had too much food.

If you bought it at a kosher place they wouldn't give you the cheese on it anyway. You could say u went Kosher for x-mas.
