ahhh, now I get it. A funny other note, driving into my cousin's town, they had a sign that said WELCOME TO WASHBURN, HOME OF MISS MAINE 2000
This intrigued me and I shoudla tried to find her, since there couldn't have been more then 1000 people in this town

in Maine, they have spring water that comes out of the faucet.... and real bubble gum ice cream.... and you can swim in streams when the salmon migrate.... and climb Mt Kitahdin!
Did I mention the lobsters are enormous and plentiful?
I love Maine.
But, yeah... driving there sucks a big fat smelly arse.

Hey go easy on Maine. Where do you think the winter hides during the summer? And you think snow grows on trees? And who else's accent can make you quit complaining about the illiterate goons in Boston?
Maine. The state that makes Rhode Island look intelligent.

I know a person who moved to West Virginia rather than stay in Maine any longer. The more I think of it, she's right. Living in Maine makes me want to kill myself.

You walked on your hands the whole time? Or maybe you were born there and moved before you learned how to walk.

I disagree with getting rid of Maine. Acadia state park is awesome. I also stayed @ Lake Sebago and Kennepunkport and I enjoyed that as well. I've only been there in the summer. A winter visit could sway my opinion.

I stopped at Kinnebunkport. It was right around halfway from bergen county to where I went. And that part of Maine is fine. I have other family in Portland and I love it there.

I was born in Belfast Maine, on the shores of the Passagassawakeag River (no joke, pass-a-gas-uh-wah-keeg). And yes, we moved to Massachusetts before I was old enough to walk, and Ive never been back... although it's on my bucket list, I guess.

I'm glad I didn't go with my first guess - you were driving through on a book tour, ran off an icey road, and a crazy lady found you and maimed your legs so you couldn't escape.

In most of the Western world, while incest generally describes forbidden sexual relations within the family, the applicable definitions of family vary. Within the United States, marriage between first cousins is illegal in some states, but not in others. In twenty-four states marriages between first cousins are prohibited, and another seven permit them only under special circumstances. Utah, for example, permits first cousins to marry only if both spouses are over age 65, or at least 55 with evidence of sterility; North Carolina permits first cousins to marry unless they are "double first cousins" (cousins through more than one line); Maine permits first cousins to marry only upon presentation of a certificate of genetic counselling. The other states with some, but not absolute, limits on first-cousin marriage are Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.

I could have gone my entire life without knowing that. Now I'm even more disgusted by the inbreds in this miserable state, if that's even possible.

Actually, for some reason, Canadians love the Jersey Shore. You'll see Ontario license plates everywhere.
I drove up to Maine in October a year ago - the summer season was over in about a week so it was pretty much all locals. The leaves were changing and there was a brisk in the air. The people were nice, the food was great and the beer was delicious. Went hiking, fishing and even spotted some whales, including a humpback. Maine was awesome and I will be going again.

i wont front any longer.
i <3 maine. i was there back in oct of '02. while it was 70 down here, it was a cool brisk 38 up there. your right- once the tourists leave, its paradise. the locals would pull up a seat at the bar for you, the food was great, and the shipyard brewery= A+.
i would love to live in maine, but the wife has a beef with the cold.
ps- i also loved the fact that there were homemade signs for major things like, gas stations, etc. also that there is only 1 area code (208)
