Which version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" do you like the most?

I have always loved the jam of Gladys Knight's version the best. James Jamerson at his best there.

What do you think?

Interesting story: The California Raisins commercial was big when my wife and I were Seniors in high school. My wife and two friends went to the Senior Masquerade dressed as California Raisins (I went as Hitler, but that's a completely different story). Anyway, at the after-party we made out and I felt her up through the Raisins outfit. So, the California Raisins have always had a special place in my heart. I'm going with that version even hough I can't stand any of them.

I always think of the opening of the Big Chill when I hear Marvin Gaye's version,it was Kevin Costner's best role ever.

Does CCR really count? The way Fogerty sings it, the song is "Hoyed It Through the Grape Vine."

You would think he took elocution lessons from Randy Newman...

I picked Marvin Gaye, but I'm posting this because it's my video.

The version by the Temps is the best but I can remember playing the CCR version on juke boxes in bars because it was like seven minutes long and I wanted to get my money's worth ...

CCR never did "Heard it Through the Grapevine". You must be thinking of their song, "Hoyd it Through the Grapevine".

Of all the versions listed I like the CCR version. But here is Marvin doing an amazing, amazing a capella version (http://youtube.com/watch?v=3poeBGG70zY).
