Police: Takeout dispute led man to kill wife in front of son, 7

I was checkin out my local paper online and found this article this morning...

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. — A man beat his wife to death in front of their 7-year-old son after the couple got into a fight over a takeout food order, authorities said Monday. The 7-year-old, the couple’s youngest son, told investigators that his father became angry Saturday night over a takeout food order and began “punching his mother in the mouth,” Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said. The boy tried to call for help, but Joseph Giongo ripped out the phone cord, locked the front door and continued hitting his wife, police said.

Bernadette Giongo, 42, told the boy, “I’m going to die. I love you,” investigators said in court papers.

Joseph Giongo at one point put on a pair of shoes, “returned to his mother’s body and jumped on her stomach and face at the same time,”

The biggest loss is his mother. Kids are close to their dads, but that doesn't come nearly as close to the bond they have with their mothers. It's bad enough she's gone, but to see the dad inflict this type of abuse....

can you imagine that being the last words and view of your mom that you remember?

reminds me of the scene in titanic of the mother tucking her 2 kids into bed and telling them to go to sleep (all while they know the boat is sinking). never bothered me until after i had a child. now, i cant watch that scene.

i see things and react to things so much differently ever since my son was born.
