Nice evening letdowns

Did you ever have a nice evening ruined for you by things outside of your control?

A few years ago I took my wife to a nice restaurant but I didn't want to tip the valet, so I parked on a side street near the restaurant to save a few bucks. After the awesome meal, we walk back to my car and I find a $50 ticket on the window. Apparently the neighbors on that side street didn't like restaurant people parking there and they had the town place weird hours no parking signs..

Can you recall nice evenings that ended badly?

The best was for a party night for my wife in midtown Manhattan, I read the sign wrong , it said no parking from 9pm to 7am, I thought It was 9am to 7pm like most signs. i parked ina Taxi Stop area, my Piece of shit 98 Sentra was towed, had to pay $20 for a Cab and $250 to get it back

One weekend I had a lovely weekend in Princeton with reeph and when I got back home I found out that my car had been hit. That ruined a lot of things.

Tonight I came home and checked my email. Then I went to check one of my favorite websites and read this (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/showthread.php?p=1553863#post1553863) and wanted to jam my keys into my eyes.

i had driven out to the hamptons with my girlfriend, we had a late dinner, and after getting on the (one way) main road aound 1230 am we realized we had a flat.
i got the donut on then had to drive less than 40 mph the whole way home.
the whole trip people would speed up behind us honking cause we were going so slow.
also, i had never changed a flat before so i kept thinking the donut would fall off.

on oct 30th, i went with a couple of my boys to see cypress at the nokia theatre.
i told him he could park there; the city said otherwise and towed his shit 15 min later.
we got to the tow yard at 12am, got the truck at 2, then it took an hour and a half to get home.
185 for the tow and 115 for the ticket PLUS tax.
grrrrrrrr
i told him he could park there, so i owned up and paid up.
what could have been $18 parking cost me like, $315.
