I had a Lost in Space lunchbox.

My friend Tom had a Herman Munster style lunchbox that had been handed down from brother to brother and had stickers all over it and it was kind of cool looking. He had this can of Scotch Ice in it with the tartan cover? It was rusting and his mother covered it with foil. He used to eat thick liverwurst sandwiches. I lost contact with him over the years and recently found out is now a flaming homosexual living out in the Hamptons as the lover of an 80 yr old retired 3rd circuit court judge.

I had a metal Battlestar Galactica one, until I triped, fell on it, and crushed it. I then used a plastic Gi-Joe one.
Peanuts lunchbox around 1970-73. It had that lunchbox stink--a combination of liverwurst, lebanon bologna and sour milk.
I, too, shattered the matching thermos in the first week--mirrored glass shards all through my milk. I can't believe those things were legal back then.

We couldn't have lunch boxes like all the other kids.

It was an area where my parents could save a little dough.

So my sister got one the right shape and all, but it had the same plaid one sees on the scotch tape dispenser.

I got this unwieldy flat black plastic thing with a lid shaped like a barn roof and didn't hold the thermos off of the other food like it was supposed to.

And when I carried my lunch in a bag, my mother wouldn't give me bags like the other kids had, oh no!

I'd have this bigass grocery bag, - not the full sized one like one sees today, but one about half that size.

Ther good part was my mom packed a great lunch. I'd have lots of great homemade cookies, but never any fritos or other chips in their own bag, oh no, they were too expensive.

All my chips were in a baggie.
