The Golden Globe Nominations Came Out And Are here (http://movies.aol.com/golden-globes/nominee-winner).

Maybe it was just me but I was really underwhelmed with American Gangster, even though I liked the performances. Like Ron said, I thought they lost a lot by focusing so much on the relatively uninteresting, nothing new story of Russell Crowe's character. It felt like he was in it more than Washington.

But nice to see Eastern Promises getting some love, I thought that movie would have been forgotten by now but it was one of my favorites of the year.

I'm still waiting for Atonement to go into release... wide. I completely missed "Eastern Promises" and I had plans to see "Michael Clayton", but never did. I always get a laugh out of the fact that I never see any of the Best Actress films.

God, three of the best comedy/musical films haven't even hit wide release yet.

I think "Atonement" will do to "No Country for Old Men" what "The English Patient" did to "Fargo" -- it'll fuck the Coen bros. over again. "Atonement" is the kind of big, sweeping historical epic the Oscar voters -- who are far more conservative than people think -- love, as opposed to a bleak, pretty damn brutal movie like "No Country for Old Men."
