The Steve sounds need to fucking stop. It's WAY too inside and not even that funny/entertaining for those on the inside. I try to listen to O&A with my buddy during our carpool to work to introduce him to the show and I have to change it out of embarassment when they drive the Steve sound effects into the ground. If you're trying to bring in new listeners to the show, this is a shitty place to turn for humor.

I beg to differ sir! I have a good friend in phoenix that i have been trying to get into O&A for years. He listens at work from the Cleveland station's web site. He started the day they were doing the Steve voices the first time and so far thats his fav bit on the show. Go figure, of all the bits for him to get into from the get go, its the annoying Steve noises.

Regardless, I am hoping it lasts just long enough till the boys play my remix on the air.

I laughed the first time but they really are carrying it on too long. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if they didn't keep reintroducing the bit which is a big hold up of O&A.

The clips within songs were kinda funny, but not enough to redeem the bit. Steve's warm up clips are used WAY too much and not just in songs. They use them randomly in a way that only the loyal listeners get. I know O&A is a soap opera that you have to stay with, but Steve's warm up sounds are not worth the time unless Steve is calling in from Yellowstone

I don't understand why those motherfucking sounds get so much airplay but "Nothin' but C Meat" doesn't. I love Steve C. clips usually, but this time around, it's just goofy cartoony sounds... even if you know Steve and know how completely unlike himself that is, I find that the real Steve C. is comedy gold more than any of this put-on bullshit.

I'd laugh if they hadn't already done a much funnier job with Bob Kelly breaking his knee interspliced with Zeppelin's Immigrant Song... they use the exact same motherfucking song for Steve C. so those who think it's so original can go fuck

I wish Intern Bill would return and write more creepy evil Steve C. promos.

i didn't care for the Dru Boogie one today or the other one that altered the original clip though, they're funnier to me if nothing is done to his ridiculous noises to make them fit the song.

So far my favorites are the Kiss song and the Collective Soul remix from today's show

Like yesterday they get new steve sounds, so they have to play the source material and then all of the 'greatest hits' before they can get to the new stuff. I understand thats how you bring people in, but I've always hated that aspect of the show. For once I'd like to hear opie say 'we could explain all this for the new people, but fuck em they'll figure it out.' instead of 'just to bring all the new people on board.'

i agree they do set up alot...but normally just on the FM side...the XM listeners usually linger longer and i think they know that
