Brett Favre is Sports Illustrated's 2007 Sportsman of the Year (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/magazine/specials/sportsman/2007/12/03/sportsman.2007/index.html?eref=T1)

http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2007/magazine/specials/sportsman/2007/12/03/sportsman.2007/p1_favre1.jpg

When Favre decided to return for the 2007 season, even die-hard Cheeseheads must have been hoping only that he would not tarnish his legacy. What no one expected was that Favre would reinvent himself yet again, enjoying one of his best years at age 38 while cajoling a talented but callow team to a stunning 10-2 record.

Despite the creepy pic, the guy has managed to stay competitive. You gotta give it to him.

And that's what it takes to win Sportman of the Year. Stay competitive when you are kinda old.

Tom Brady has thrown 3,120 TDs so far this season but I guess that doesn't matter.

Sportsman of the year and Best qb aren't the same. Brady's def the best qb, and for some reason with the cancer society and other charity shit that Favre's done, (along with the sucess of the packers I'm sure) is why they gave him that ..."honor"? Either way they can both go kill themselves.

I'm convinced he's dying his own hair grey to play up the "amazing elderly comeback angle." The fucker is less than 10 years older than me and he's looking like Kenny Rogers.

Cry me a river about Tom Brady. Those Td's don't make him the sportsman of the year.

Correct. He's a better QB than Fran was, plus he has a Super Bowl ring...something Fran will never have.
