I want a list of all the movies that Ron and Dave suggest because they seem to have the best taste in movies of anyone. So list some past movies that Ron and Dave have mentioned as some of there favorites.

Far from it. Ron appreciates a smart movie. Just because he doesn't enjoy most of the pop corn summer movie fillers doesn't make him a snob. And seriously, they are mostly shit.

Miller's Crossing is an excellent movie. Cohen Brothers, and has been out long enough that I wouldn't consider it a movie that not too many people saw. Any fan of the Cohen Brothers, and good mob movies, have seen it.

I can't recall any recent movies that he enjoyed right now - but I'm sure other will be able to name some.

I find that I have similar tastes in films as Ron. I would never consider watching superhero movies or Shrek types, but give me an independent or foreign film and I'm happy.

Ron does have an advantage in that he lives in NYC, so he gets to see the latest art house films in theaters, where as I have to wait for DVD or PPV.

I'm probably more of a movie snob. I will only watch films that are widescreen (unless of course it was filmed intentionally to be full screen). I have heard Ron mention that he'd watched a particular film on AMC. That is one channel that I avoid since they always play movies in full screen.

Ron and Fez turned me on to Layer Cake a couple of years back.

It became one of my favorite movies of all time.

Then I went and read the book which was just as awesome.

Ron and Dave definately go for movies with a certain 'cool' atmosphere with Ron being a little more cutting edge than Dave. But I think they go a litte more for atmosphere than substance sometimes cus they really hype movies that either haven't heald up at all, or are severly overrated. But I guess I'm a snob too, and we dont like our own. Ronny is into alot of documentaries, and most of the ones he talks about dont have the social aspect that has made documentaries popular lately, so I really respect that.
I dont know if he's seen it or likes it but I'd say definately check out the doc 'Genghis Blues' its really cool.

It is not that I don't like the movies Ron & Dave pick. It just to me that if a movie is big and makes money, automatically it's considered a popcorn movie and can't be good. Yes their is a lot of shitty movies out. With out the shitty movies then how do you know what a good movie is. Just feel that a popcorn movie can be good. All goes on personnel taste.

A movie that Ron recommended and saw and thought it was good was KISS KISS BANG BANG. It was entertaining and good characters.

One of the reasons I got into the show was because of Ron's love of film. Anytime he mentions a movie I haven't heard of, I always make a note of it.

First off, anything by the Coen brothers: Miller's Crossing, Big Lebowski, Fargo, No Country For Old Men (in theaters now)

Anything by Paul Thomas Anderson: Boogie Nights (listen for the Sextravaganza music), Magnolia, Hard Eight (Dave mentions this from time to time)

Everything by Tarantino, Fight Club. They talk about a lot of documentaries too, but I don't watch too many of those.

I was very excited to hear that Ron watched Dogville and was blown away by it. Lars von Trier's my favorite director.

Some of the movies I went after just because of Ron were The Proposition, The Quiet Man, Gentleman Jim (both with Ward Bond), Tombstone, and 24 Hour Party People. Can't think of any others right now.

Just start watching the Sundance Channel and IFC, and get a Netflix subscription. You'll catch up in no time

I have been on a Ronnie B & ESD movie kick as of late... I watched:

Manhattan - Loved it, it makes me want to move to NYC - my favorite of all the recomendations
Barton Fink - Loved it but the ending was insane
Blood Simple - Liked it a lot
Millers Crossing - Was expecting more but still enjoyed it
Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny - Laughed my ass off
Waiting for Guffman - Bored silly
Bottle Rocket - Liked it
Chinatown - This was awesome... I watched it just before he starting using the Daughter/Sister line all the time
Sunset Boulevard - Worth seeing once
Diner - Micky Rourke rules
Pope of Greenwich Village - Forever I will think of this movie when I hear Sinatra's Summer Wind

If anyone has any more to suguest that they talk about, I would love to hear about them...

Fantastic! I love that one. One day he was talking about Tarantino's dialogs, and he went, "Better than Mamet... Yeah, I fucking said it!" Something like that. Had me in stitches. Glengary has Alec Baldwin's most memorable monologue, by far.

Not all movies are films. You're officially a film snob when you insist on making the distinction.

follow up just watched Miller's Crossing my chick tapped out the first time 15 minutes into it because of the heavy dialouge (but she does have good taste in movies or at least as it relates to things that I like.) I thought the film was fantastic and for all those who haven't seen it I would highly reccomend it. Some great action shots with some great set up scenes. Thanks again netflix and R&F.

Manhattan....It was completely different than anything I have ever watched because I am only 21 and I have onlywatched popcorn blockbuster's, but I am trying to widen out in my viewing because I want to get references that everyone uses and I want to see some great films that I have never given a chance. I liked this movie but don't really get it unless it is just a film about an everyday Jewish man living in the city living his life. Either way I liked It.

Reservior Dogs....What the HELL was I waiting on to see this film, it is almost impossible to decide which was better, Reservior Dogs or Pulp Fiction.

Pulp Fiction....Look above..I have 2 new favorite films of all time and now know who the best director of all time is too.

I am watching Clockwork Orange today
and hopefully more soon.

COCAINE COWBOYS (R)
The true story that inspired "Scarface" and "Miami Vice" is told in this riveting documentary that looks back at the rise of the Miami cocaine trade in the late 1970s and early '80s, fueled by Colombia's Medellin cartel, stacks of cash, and buckets of bullets and blood. Directed by Billy Corben.

Now playing on Showtime.

Don't get me wrong, PF and RD are two of my favorites, but you have a lot more directors to go through . You'll get a lot more show references now, like Jay Mohr's Chris Penn. Have you watched the Kill Bill movies yet? The Superman monologue in Vol. 2 is my favorite thing he's written.

I haven't watched Manhattan yet, but you should definitely check out Annie Hall. I was also a big fan of Match Point (he mentioned it on the air last week).

I went and got a bunch of the rockumentries they had been talking about lately...

Without doubt The Last Waltz is my favorite.... its become my go-to movie on my Ipod

I also got these:

Gimme Sheltar: (Stones) Phenominal... the concern footage is really something you can not explain unless you see the show... and seeing Muscle Shoals and the studio was something I will always remember...

Bob Dylan: Don't Look Back: Another great one - slower than Waltz and Sheltar - but Dylan is one of the most interesting people ever

The Kids are Alright: (The Who) - Again, the concert footage and Baba OReily was worth watching the whole movie for. Ketih Moon definately is the star...

I have Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten and Bob Dylan's No direction home sitting here as well...

I had also seen that Decline of Wester Civilization II: The Metal Years doc - and Some Kind of Monster - a while back. Both are worth checking out for the comedy... the drunk guy in the pool in DWC is maybe the best television of 1988...

after Ronnie and ESD mentioned it, I put it on my netflix list.

Definitely a great watch; as you said, Dylan is incredibly interesting subject, and I think Scorcese made this eclectic enough - pulling out the influences etc.

Once Upon a Time in America is up there with the Godfather, it's a fantastic movie.Sergio Leone is a great director. The only movie I have an issue with on your list is Heat. Other than the gun battles scenes this movies does nothing for me. If anything I feel this is the decline of Pacino. There are very few films after, and including Heat that he is any good in (Donnie Brasco and maybe City Hall).
