I found about a million websites with people asking the same question. The closest thing to an answer is that it's NOT Rachel Leigh Cook. She looks familiar, though. I'm pretty sure I've seen her in something else.

Yeah, their last two albums are fantastic. Good and power pop-y.

That's actually a good point. "College rock" as it's used really conflicts with most music you hear in dorms and at fraternities and sororities. It really only applies to the "indie" side of things, which is as much a minority at college as it is in "the real world." Most music blasted at college seriously sucks.
