I live in a basement apartment, and Monday I came into the room that this computer is in and it smelled a little funny. I walked around and suddenly the carpet was soaking wet. I walk around more and its sopping wet by the wall.
I panic a little check the boiler room and there is water everywhere and I see its coming out of one of the water heaters. My brother in law owns the house and I call him and he comes over and turns out the water heater went. He turns it off and drains it outside, and the next day comes back to replace it. Meanwhile, my computer room is trashed and I have to pull everything out and tear up the carpet. So, since then I have been waiting for him to get me a new carpet, but he is taking his time.
I am sure your computer is like mine with a million wires going everywhere. I have two set up side by side and you can imagine the mess.
This is my link to the outside world, so I set up just the basics to get me on and its sitting on a small table on a bare cement floor. I am not sure how long this will take, but for now, I am online and it is only a matter of time until I am back in a comfortable room.

Thats all, carry on.'

Who else ever went through this?

My laptop connects to my wireless router, and I live on the third floor, so there isn't too much flooding going on, but I'm sure your situation sucks.

Thankfully I had both computers off the floor, so there was no danger of water on the computer itself, but the bad part is that I have to wait to redo the room.

Dude, I feel your pain. Really (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/showthread.php?t=59144). We are still not back to normal. Water damage is a real bitch.

i also feel ya pain, man.
i had a 55g reef tank blow a seal on the 2nd floor.
only reason i discovered it was the water running down the wall in the basement.

granted nothign was damaged besides livestock and the tank, but the stench of saltwater embedded itself into the carpet and floors and walls.
