This is not a bit.
A new drug called MIRAPEX is being used to treat "Restless Leg Syndrome". Below is a list of the possible side effects.
Read the whole thing. The hits just keep on comin'.
http://www.mirapex.com/commercial.jsp
-----
When beginning to take MIRAPEX, you should be cautious until you know how the drug will affect you.
Some people who take MIRAPEX can become sleepy or fall asleep while doing normal everyday activities like driving a car.
It is possible that MIRAPEX treatment can cause someone to feel faint or become dizzy when standing up from a seated or prone position.
There are reports of some people having hallucinations (seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, or tasting something that does not actually exist) while taking MIRAPEX. However, hallucinations are uncommon in people taking MIRAPEX for primary restless legs syndrome and occur more frequently in people over 65 taking MIRAPEX for Parkinson’s disease.
There have been reports of patients taking certain medications to treat Parkinson's disease or RLS, including MIRAPEX, that have reported problems with:
gambling,
compulsive eating,
and increased sex drive.
It is not possible to reliably estimate how often these behaviors occur to determine which factors may contribute to them.
If you or your family members notice that you are developing unusual behaviors, talk to your doctor.
Please note that this is not a complete list of possible side effects.
Your doctor or pharmacist can give you further information. Likewise, it is important to talk to your doctor if you experience any of these problems.

I saw a commercial for a similar drug last night. The reading of the side effects took longer than the rest of the commercial.

If it was the same commercial I heard, it was a depression medication. There were also several mentions of "life threatening" side effects.
I was laughing my ass off - a depression drug that can have life threatening side effects. WTF?!?!?!?!

That stuff is fucked up. My dad started taking it about a year ago for restless leg sydrome. He said that before he took the drug he could sleep through the night only to be awakeded once or twice. Now he sleeps great, but if he doesn't take the drug he can't sleep at all. If he's on vacation and runs out he is screwed. He also says that if he doesn't take it his hands shake all day when they didn't before. He describes it as being as addictive as oxycontin without the high. Bad stuff.

These fucking scumbag drug companies are medicating us to death and just giving kick backs to the government and the doctors that give them out.
Fuck you. I don't need your goddamn poison.

...women who are pregnant, or may become pregnant..."

I'm partial to the type of warning that I saw on the sticker of a Bobcat. One of these...

When you raised the bucket, there was a sticker that said simply, "AVOID DEATH".

When I was younger I had severe OCD. There was a point in my life where I couldn't even leave my house, and at that time I started using Zoloft. Four years later my OCD had subsided, but I was completely addicted. My personality changed and I couldn't imagine a life without depending on the drug. I tried to gradually reduce dosage, but it wasn't working so I stopped COLD TURKEY and went through all the withdrawal symptoms. I quit smoking and quitting Zoloft was about just as bad. It was actually probably worse because there were more physical side effects. I've been Zoloft free for more than a year now.
My suggestion to anyone is not to go on anything unless it's absolutely necessary. When I was 21 I couldn't leave my house and would obsess in my room all day. At that point I knew I HAD to do something or my life would deteriorate. I still have issues with my OCD, but no where near the point that I'd put those pills in my body again.
