I was totally digging this until someone in the trailer referred to Oz as "The O Z".
Hopefully that is just one silly moment.

dunno the context, but THE wizard was THE OZ.....The great and powerful oz to be exact.
But if they were looking at the city and saying here we is, in the oz...then youre right.
edit: oh. wait. you meant the Oh-Zee ....blech

So far Burton has fucked up Batman, Planet of the Apes, Sleepy Hollow and Willy Wonka. Jury is still out as to whether or not he'll fuck up Sweeney Todd. Even if he doesn't, odds are that yet another one of his "reimaginings" will chug some serious schlong.

the O.Z. stands for the Outer Zone according to the commercial.
i don't know what to think about this re-imagining. it could be good fun, or it could stink on ice. of course, i was never a big fan of the original, so i guess i'll have to wait and see.

what papabear said. loved her in hitchhiker's guide.
so, we've had the wiz, wixked and now this one...how many more times does this story need to be re-imagined? i draw the line at the upcoming t.o.t.o. - a dog's tail.

Did anyone see the start of the miniseries Tin Man last night? I thought it was really good, and nice reinvention on The Wizard of Oz. the casting is really good, Zooey Deschanel is a girl that is girl next door hot and oddly hot at the same time for me. that is the reason why i watched, but the story kept me watching. did anyone think it was good?

this was awful and I'm really disappointed
the women who played the Dorothy and Wicked Witch characters were some of the worst actors I've ever seen.
Seems like they were on to something with the "reimagining" but dropped the ball hard

I'm 50/50 on this one.
Visually, I thought it was amazing. The tone was perfect. The re-imagined plot was done well but, for some reason ALL the acting sssssucks.
Good actors, acting badly. I hate when a director instructs his actors to suck out loud. (see also: The Phantom Menace)

I liked it but DJ has to be the worst actor in the history of acting. I hear she's done other stuff but how she has is beyond me. I watched the first half and was underwelmed but the second hour got me interested. I will finish the mini series cause I'm not a quitter.

Hey lleeder,
Zooey Deschannel ("D.G.") is actually a fantastic actress. She was in a great little movie with Jennifer Aniston and Jake Gyllenhall called THE GOOD GIRL. She practically steals that movie.
She was also really solid in ELF... if you're into that family movie kinda thang.
Neil McDonough ("the Tin Man") was brilliant in BAND OF BROTHERS and to a lesser extent, MINORITY REPORT. He's very natural.
In TIN MAN, all the actors are delivering their dialog in the same stilted manner. I blame the Director. Totally.

I've never seen anything with Zooey in it before, but in this her acting was absolutely horrendous.
Kathleen Robertson. Yum.
Yum is right. She looked really hot in this.
I especially loved when the camera would zoom in on her chest when her tattoos came alive. That was nice. I could watch that part all day.
