I know there is probably a "hold" on major expenditures due to the pending possible merger, but XM's TV commercials suck out loud. Whoever thought it was a good idea to adapt the yellow waves of the XM logo into poorly drawn "listening" characters, should be shot.

On the other hand, the new Sirius commercials with the products falling like dominoes is really cool. It's artistic, shows most of the product lines, and doesn't look like a 6th grader created it.

If the merger fails and XM plans to survive on its own, the company REALLY needs to reevaluate their marketing. Right now it stinks.

I have been saying this for at least two years now.

XM's marketing sucks.

The deals they had with car manufacturers, AOL, Good Morning America, and others plus the initial better equipment were good to build the XM subscriber base but the marketing of the line-up just plain sucks.

All the marketers do besides show stupid mutating singing cartoons is mention Major League Baseball + Bob Dylan + Bob Edwards now Opera&Friends all the f'n time!!!

It's like they want only soccer moms & dads. :wallbash:

And this isn't just a post about "They should mention R&F and O&A - they would sell more units."

XM advertising simply isn't clever, interesting, or informative. The commercials are annoying rather than entertaining or interesting. There is a lot of great programming and the hardware is really solid, so why not try to SELL the product?!?!?!?!

I am a stupid trucker and in EVERY fucking truckstop, there is a 4foot Sirius display, right up front....

there is a small usually non working XM display in the back, and the display features a roady2......WTF that was my first XM unit, they dont even sell it anymore...

XM 100% relies on GM for subs...hell i noticed something too....

On the GM cars 75% of the cars that have XM, LACK an emblem or graphic on the radio, you find it has XM by the antenna ontop or by clicking through "band"...

On the ford units with sirius, there is a sirius logo on the radio....MUCH BETTER MARKETING.
