How about "It Doesn't Matter"?

I don't get offended if someone says one or the other to me. And I don't understand why people do. Christmas IS a Holiday, so someone saying Happy Holidays makes sense.

I don't say anything extra to strangers. Friends and family get the appropriate phrase for whatever holiday they celebrate.

Same here - if I know the person (and know they are cool with it), I will say Merry Christmas. Otherwise at work, in public, to people of passing familiarity, etc. I will always say "Happy Holidays."

Merry Christmas seems to me to be the most personal Xmas is like a contraction,a shortened version.

I usually say Happy Holidays, to my fellow jews and catholics who aren't family

but love Christmas (and say Merry Christmas) because, I eat like a King on both Christmas Eve and day, and I get 20 times the gifts from the catholic side plus wifey's family takes good care of me

if i was jewish, "merry christmas" wouldnt bother me.

christmas is like, the 2nd biggest event in the world (next to new year)

i mean, jewish and chinese have a seperate new year, but you still say happy new year to them around dec 31, right?

merry fucking christmas!!!

I was saying to my cousin last night how bullshit this "holiday" really is now. I remember the avenues, being lit up with all santa stuff and reindeers. fun shit. Now the lights just have fucking gay ass snow flakes, so its "holiday Friendly". Uggh!!!

this is exactly why these adults who feel offended got their asses kicked in the 80's.

I always say Happy Holidays and am never bothered by whatever others use...that's their business.

The only thing that bothers me is the people who insist upon Merry Christmas and make a stink about it. It seems petty & small-minded. The world is a big place, get over your self-centeredness.

I flash my biggest smile and always say "Merry Christmas."
Except for my friends who are Jewish, then I say "Happy Chanukkah." (I think I botched that transliteration; sorry.)

It's never been a problem.

When I was a kid, I had no concept of Christmas not being universal. I thought people said "happy holidays" to encompass Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years all in one greeting.

And, as much as I was a Lennon fan, "Happy Christmas" and "Merry New Year" always pissed me off.

It's my experience that they say "Happy Christmas" in Britain. (They do in every movie I've ever seen . . . of course, I watch too many British films.)

I'm not sure about the "Merry New Year" bit, especially as it has too much of an Eddie Murphy connection for me. (I couldn't find the photo I wanted.)
