Last winter, inventor John Kanzius was already attempting one seemingly impossible feat -- building a machine to cure cancer with radio waves -- when his device inadvertently succeeded in another: He made saltwater catch fire.

New cheap power source, maybe?

I saw a video a week or two ago where someone did this with a radio transmitter and their laptop. I'm gonna try to find it.

Edit: I was wrong, they did it with Coke.

it means we can use salt water for our computable engines rather than gasoline.

Now we don't have to waste oil to burn the sea.

i cant imagine that burning salt puts out any less gooder emissions than burning oil.
oil comes from fossilized plants, if im correct.

isn't one of the issues they bring up with global warming that fresh water melting into the ocean will lower its salinity, fucking up all the currents? Now we are gonna start burning salt out of the water so that their is even less salt in it? Something about this seems really bad to me

I just filled up my gastank with saltwater and now my car doesn't start. Can you tell me what I did wrong, do I need to add more salt? Thanks in advance.

well, changes in saltwater will alter currents, although im not really too sure how much freshwater it will take to move salinity.
your average salinity is a range of 1.023 to 1.026.

i'd say 70% of the ocean is deserted, although there is much fish traffic that can and will occupy these parts at times. fish use salinty to help their buoyancy.

but again, how much freshwater will it take to alter the entire ocean?
