is this just me or is this one of the greatest years in a long time to be drafting qbs

with dixon being a smarter/better team player then vic

and matt ryan being the real toast of the draft because of the system he plays in
all time qb record setter for college football (colt brennan)

The kid out of kansas being a legit pic
it just seems to me that the teams with question marks dotting their rosters will have a great opportunity this off season to shore up the long term quarter back

what are your thoughts on it?

King Hippos Bandaid

I'll get back to you late 2008 or early 2009

no and tim rattay is in the top 5 td throwers in college football history and the current number 1 (chen i think) graduated in 2001 and i cant find him
but i think colt brennan could be drafted by a team that would impliment the same system he had in college instead of asking him to become a system back

don't you mean 2008?? As these guys would get drafted in 2008 and play int he 2008 season

Yes i just confirmed this as Dixon did not redshirt and he is a senior this year.

Nice work, you beat me to it. There are only 4 that will actually get any play time though.

Jets do
Cardinals do
Redskins Kinda, (jury is not fully out on Campbell)
Jaguars do
Panthers Do, (who know what Delhomme will be after coming back from injury)

Lots of teams need a QB

I feel bad for QBs like Volek Cassel and Rodgers, they can play for other teams and are stuck

for my money ryan would work on any of these teams and be a star
i think dixon could be one of the exciting options but works out of the gun and not many teams would be willing to go a guy like that

but the other teams listed could use some qb help

49ers could use help but not at QB, they have so much invested in Smith no point in wasting in when they guy has never played 100% healthy and doesnt have the tools around him, when your best receiver is Arnaz Battle (who I love dont get me wrong) there are problems.

I know my team sucks but Miami did draft their qg of the future or so they think this past draft. John Beck. We will see how he does he will star this week.

Volek could have been a starter a lot of places but Cassel is a bum and the only thing Rodgers has proven is he can fall 20 spots in the draft and he can get hurt in his only time playing during the preseason.

being a niner fan as well, i know the facts of the team.

Our first pick is #30 we arent getting a great WR with that pick or a great anything really.
We need to stock pile picks for the coming years.

We need a RB to take over for Gore he will not hold up for another 5 years or less.
We need a WR.

If Ray Rice drops to bottom of 1st or 2nd round, niners need to pick him up.
Or go for Hart or Forsett, gore will not last as much as I love him.

Then we need to have another shitty year and go for Crabtree in 2009 he will be the key.

who is crabtree

as a niners fan we know the upsides of this defense and that they have a lot of the building blocks for the future
but sayin that gore isnt the future of th offense means that there is nothing to looki forward to on that side of the ball

who is the future head coach of the niners?
i dont, along with almost every talking head-have any faith in nolan and they will need to get an offensive coach
who is the best o coach that would want that job

considering he is probably having the best year for any freshman WR in NCAA history you should know about him.

over 100 receptions, over 1700 yards and 20 tds.

i find college football unwatchable in a highlight format or even watching any of the shows and even pre game

there are simply to many teams to have any emotional investments in anything for me outside of actual game play

OK, the Bears suck and desperately need a QB. They'll probably finish this season 6-10 or 7-9. Who should likely look at it with such a pick?

he might work there

wtf how do bears fans get off bitching about their qb after they went to the superbowl last year!?
i find this like a middle finger to the rest of the league
what they should do is draft a rb high i the draft

Grossman's gone. This is the last year on his deal and there's almost no chance he comes back. They're drafting...which is probably gonna suck anyways, even with a bunch of good guys to pick.

By Grossmaning it

I meant don't draft a QB like Grossman, test free agency and maybe get a QB later in the draft, if it works, then more gooder for you

No QB makes a good defensive player. Keep on O, maybe a kick returner like Brian Mitchell.

I think this QB class will rank with 1998. That is to say, shitty. Colt Brennan? See Chang, Timmy. 'nuff said.

Brad Smith has seemed to carve a niche out for himself as a slashback and a WR on the Jets, but I think Pat White has some more tools than Smith has.

Of course, I could see a team wasting a draft pick on him late as a backup and/or a WR.

I'm more interested to see where Slaton and Ray Rice end up.

slaton more likely towards top half of first round rice towards the bottom. Rice is projected around 27-30.

I dont think white leaves this year, he is only a redshirt junior.

Battle is another QB turned WR who isn't doing horrible considering who his QB is.
