I have been noticing this pink line that has suddenly started appearing in any video I watch on my iMac. It doesnt matter if its a dvd or on youtube or the news. What is it and how can I make it stop? It doesnt always appear in the full frame either. Its always in the same spot.

try changing the computers resolution and make sure your colors are set to be as deep as possible

I just did that and it's still there.
Could my video card be going bad? Do iMacs have a video card?

is it maybe a problem with the monitor itself?

Perhaps this is your computer's way of telling you that its gay.

Now, more than ever, be there to support your gay computer.

Your iMac has a separate video card. You can check your video card information with 'System Profiler':

Apple menu>About this Mac>More info>Graphics and Displays

If this problem only affects video playback, it probably has something to do with the video card.

It may also help to do an Apple Hardware Test:

From Apple:

To use Apple Hardware Test:
1. Disconnect all external devices from your iMac G5 except the keyboard and mouse.
If you have an Ethernet cable connected, disconnect it.
2. Insert the Mac OS X Install Disc 1 that came with your iMac G5.
3. Restart your iMac G5 and hold down the Option key as it starts up.
4. Click Apple Hardware Test when the list of available startup volumes appears.
5. Click the right arrow.
6. When the Apple Hardware Test main screen appears (after about 45 seconds), follow
the onscreen instructions.
7. If Apple Hardware Test detects a problem, it displays an error code. Make a note of the
error code before pursuing support options. If Apple Hardware Test does not detect a
hardware failure, the problem may be software-related.
