Why wait until March Madness?

We've already had a couple huge upsets: Gardner-Webb over Kentucky and Findlay over Ohio St.

My Seminoles are predicted 9th in the ACC. I can see them finishing as high as 7th, probably just enough to miss out on the NCAA tournament again. Leonard Hamilton has yet to get this team to the next level after resuscitating it from the Steve Robinson era.

Hawaii is playing their season opener right now with a new coach for the first time in 20 years.

I'm thinking of adopting Washington State as my team for this year. Hawaii sucks and Florida State is down to 6 scholarship players, including 4 guards and one true freshman. I'll keep hope alive, but it doesn't look good for the conference season.

Anyway, #4 Washington State is lead by All-American guard and Iolani High School alumnus, Derrick Low (where is that famous graduate of your high school thread?). Might as well have some team to cheer on come tournament time.

Clemson took it in OT2. I'm amazed that FSU could hang in on the road with really only 5 scholarship players playing significant minutes. Still, it hurts to let a road ACC game slip away like that.

I think I may have jinxed Washington St. by adopting them as my team for this year. I hope I'm not developing an Opie of Hippo sports curse.
