I heard today that in the NHL the Toronto Maple Leafs are the most valuable team followed by the Rangers, then the Devils. In something like 25th 0r 26th place is the team I route for the Islanders. It makes me feel shittier somehow that my team is so po. Should that matter to me?

Not really.. Washington Redskins were worth the most in the NFL for years.. And they sucked goats..

i could care less what they're worth, i dont own them and wont benefit from any sale of the team

i only care if they win or not

Excellent example. Daniel Snyder's penny-pinching ways have increased the Redskins value immensely, but what benefits do the fans see? There is a salary cap in the NFL, so it's not like they can outspend other teams. And the money they do spend is often spent foolishly...Deion Sanders, Brandon Lloyd, Archuleta...

I care only to the point that my favorite teams are financially stable...therefore they don't risk contraction, relocating, etc. I guess in baseball it is important to a certain point, but it has more to do with money spent wisely.
