Pretty much all day I had sudden loss of audio on my XM Roady XL..... It was like someone unplugged it, but it was still on. Anyone else notice this?? Or is it just me? I really need to get an Inno.

Not just you. I just listened to OnA and RnF on my Inno that I recorded today, and I had random dropouts as well. I didn't have any bad weather in my city either, so I have to think this was an XM thing.

Spell check aside, ya. My inno dropped audio 2-3 times during Ron and Fez today.

Same here.....

Lots of short signal losses today........
(I have an Inno, if it matters)

It was happening during live o&a on directv also.
And supposely a friend of a friend may or may not of downloaded a torrent of ron and fez and supposely he may of said that they were also on there...so it must be widespread.

I think the problem is that a couple days out of the year the satellites get in a weird position and the signal cuts in and out. I think I remember it happening last fall also... or I could be just making shit up.

maybe bbking was in the area

Yes. I've noticed it for a couple of days. I check the display and the PAD is still up, and no loss of signal strength. Annoying.

My XM online isn't working this morning. It's the same error message I got a couple of weeks ago:

Error 500--Internal Server Error
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

The last time I saw this, it was down all day. Great, looks like it'll be another long day at the office. I think my MyFi does have one saved Ron & Fez show on it though.

Okay, it's working now. Thank God.

Yeah, I heard the same dropouts yesterday while listening online.

Yes, yesterday and this morning the audio just cuts out, then comes right back.

It was also happening on XM Online as well, so it's not a satellite thing. It also happened when I was listening on the ride home.

Whenever the audio cut out, I looked at the Satellite Strength and it was full bars, so it's gotta be an audio thing before it hits the satellites, not a satellite thing.

I didn't notice it on the boneyard. Just the virus.

it seems like the 202 channel strength is worse than others...i could be listening to the virus and get shitty or no reception then switch to another channel and its fine...i dont know if thats possible to boost certain channels more than others...oh and my audio just cut out again

Hello,
Just wondering, while listen to O&A and R&F, my radio sound goes out. For a few seconds then it comes back on. I am using a MYFI. This happens either when I am using the ear phones or not(When using the FM trasmit). Is anyone less experiencing this? Is it XM or is my unit going to crap?

Anyone else going through this?:blink:

Thanks

I guess it is a XM thing, I posted a thread about this same thing. For a few days now, losing audio and yet signal is fine.

Maybe they moved the clocks up too early in XM and that fucked everything up.....or it is the RATS..DAMN YOU RATS..DAMN YOU!!!

Thanks....CYA

I have a MyFi and have noticed the problem intermittently for quite a while.

When I do the "207" trick to see the signal strength from the 2 satellites, I notice that on most of the music channels the indicator numbers for both satellites are very close to zero (where they should be) but on channel 202 (and most of the other talk channels) the signal from satellite #1 is at 100 (no signal) and the signal from satellite #2 is a zero (great signal)

So it looks like XM is cutting corners and not broadcasting talk channels as strongly as the music channels.

Well I rather have them cut a few corners than cut the programming all together.

Apart from the audio problems another thing I've noticed is that the commercials have been out of date for the last week or so. I just heard the spot about the pats running up the score and how they needed to prepare for this Sunday's battle with the colts. I also heard promos this week for the premiere of Bob Newhart unmasked this sunday.

They may be in merger panic. I wonder who's left runnin the boards in DC;

Wonder if a radio refresh will work. Anyone contact XM and ask. I would but I have to push the courage out first and I just don't have time.

What is the 207 trick?
