View Full Version : Zombies, Robots, or Apes?

Which of the following scenarios would you rather live through:
an attack by an army of zombies (fast moving), an army of robots (terminator style) or face the planet of the apes?
Zombie Holocaust
Robot Rebellion
Ape Uprising
For me, it would have to be intelligent apes. Zombies freak me out too much for me to be all that effective and terminators are far more dangerous than apes on horseback. Plus one could live under ape rule if we lost where as the other want to wipe us out.

Fast zombies are terrifying, I dont think I would want to deal with the smart apes so I guess its Robots.

You've got the best shot against a zombie uprising.
Apes move is packs, have incredible senses and strength and if you were lucky enough to live through the first wave of attack; your end would most likely be soon. They are not to be trusted and will stop at nothing until you are either domesticated, beaten or eaten. Similarly with respect to robots; they actually CAN'T stop until the targets are terminated or herded into groups destined for use as batteries for the machines. Robot hordes are programmed to destroy and chances are slim of escape and living past a day or two. Conversely; Zombies are fleshy and easy to stop. Just be mindful of blood sprays and bites but you can always get away using a slow jog. Couple that with an overabundance of abandon cars and motorcycles with full fuel tanks and you have a good chance of escape. Moreover; you can see zombies coming from far away and hear them too. They are sluggish and would be relatively easy to stop compared to Simians and Robots. It's not a question of 'if' Furie; its a question of 'when'. And when that day comes, we ALL have to fight.

If these are the zombies from the new movies (new) dawn of the dead, 28 days later, etc. that move on a sprint that jog wont work. If its old school zombies then we have a chance. Those new ones are fucking terrifying though. Also if you have read the survival guide you will find out that it takes years for zombies to starve.

Ranked by level of pain in impending death:
3. Apes: Strong and Brutal, they will pull your limbs off like it were Zinj.
2. Zombies: The initial bite stings, but if you don't beat 'em, you join 'em.
1. Robots: They are very clean and shiny and carry lazers. I'm either vaporized or harvested for energy.
Bonus points go to Robots, as I will fight them most passionately. We built these fuckers, now we put them in their place.

Really hard question.
Robuts? See Terminator
Apes? "You cut out his brrainn!!" Pretty fucking advanced!
Zombies? not pleasant, but probably by best shot at survival.

Have you not seen a zombie movie in the last five years? They're fast now.
I think the zombies would be the easiest to survive because of their lack of intelligence. The main problem with zombies is that some of your loved ones will become zombies and you'll have to take them out. It's inevitable.

zombies
a. they are still flest(easier to kill)
b. lack intelligece so morally easier to destroy/wont be outsmarted (which is a huge plus)
c. no weapons for them
the basic use of tools would give me/other survivors a major advantage

Then I'll take on the robots. Fuck that fast zombie shit... the sound alone they make as they run ravenous towards you is scary as hell. I'll fight the robots with the science nerd I've rescued from the local laboratory. You know, the hot chick who dabbles in robotics and just might be able to build an EMP that will wipe them out. I've got the bullets, she's got the brains and we're makin' some hot apocalyptic love while fighting them in the streets. Cue music.

I've been waiting my whole life for a zombie attack. I'm prepared mentally and physically.
I don't know if we stand a chance against robots or even apes.
If it came down to it, I could take a zombie (28 days later style) one one one. As long as I had some kind of makeshift weapon. But one on one, I don't think I could take out the robots or apes.

Man, this is a tough one. I think the robots are out, simply because they will be almost too tough to beat. If you are using the basis of the Terminator or Matrix, then mankind is essentially doomed. The only way to survive is if the machines let you survive.
It really depends on how the Zombies are created and how the affliction is passed on. Is it a virus? Something mystical or religious? Does everybody that dies turn into a Zombie or just those that are somehow infected? Are the survivors somehow "immune" to Zombie-ism - aside from being bitten of course? If it is possible to survive the zombie attack otherwise unscathed, I would definitely go for Zombie. I feel confident that I know enough to fight them and make it through the other side.
However, if you can't escape the eventual curse of Zombie-ism, I would go with Apes. It would essentially be like fighting other humans, although they are stronger, more agile, and can rip you in half. At least you can stop them by conventional means and you aren't doomed to an undead hell if you fail.

I hate to say this, but Grant is the robot expert on Mythbusters. If you want any chance of survival, you may have to "take one for the team" (if you know what I mean) and save Grant instead of Kari.

is it just me or wouldn't it take like 20 or 30 years to raise an ape army that could even compare with humans
the point of the robots is that they could multiply exponentially to create a serious army in a matter of months
i dont consider monkeys a real threat
the religous right on the other hand represent a clear and present danger

I would assume you were somehow "thrust" into a world where Apes dominate - like a spaceship crash or accidentally being put into suspended animation.
Or they are some type of space ape or apes from another dimension that cross into our world rather than apes that arise domestically. You are right; it would take too long for apes to "rise up in revolution" under current conditions.

then planet of the apes would suck the most becuase youd be alone and with out built in resources that we would have on our own planet(guns, water, frozen chicken)

You are still cool if they are space or extra-dimensional apes. They would be invading us and we would still have all of our weapons, resources, and frozen chickens at our disposal.
Of course the invading Ape Army could be technologically superior if they are coming from space or another dimension. It takes a good bit of know-how to do that kind of crap.

I agree, it would take a while for the apes to gather. but we would become complacent with our simian servants. so when they's actually strike, they's probably get us in our sleep. taking us by surprise.

it is a tough call. i know i could handle the zombies if i knew they were slow, and even if they were fast, i think i would do ok. the robot attacks. . . .i am assuming that the robots have human like bodies, arms and legs (terminator) and so, i would probably die instantly; if its "lost in space" robots, or ones with drill-do's, i will do fine. the apes i do have problem with! what kind of apes - gorillas and orangutans and chimps i would have serious problems. the apes, all one species or all apes working together to be the new #1 species?

PORTLAND, Ore. -- A car full of people dressed as zombies crashed on Interstate 84 near downtown Portland on Friday, causing initial confusion by people who witnessed the crash.
Portland Police said the car was swerving in the eastbound lanes of the freeway just east of the Lloyd District just after 9:30 p.m. when it rolled over and crashed onto its top.
Emergency crews took five victims from the crash to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said that in their investigation they learned that the people inside the car were dressed as zombie costumes and they were headed to a party at the time of the crash.
Sgt. Greg Stewart said people who witnessed the crash initially thought the victims' injuries were much more serious, because of the zombie costumes.
"We're glad that everyone is alive, despite being 'undead'," Sgt. Stewart said, referring to the costumes.
While everyone in the car was taken to the hospital, Stewart said crews are investigating the possibility that more people were in the car at the time of the crash but fled the scene on foot.
The crash halted traffic in the eastbound lanes for about an hour, reducing travel to just one lane. All eastbound lanes were opened at around 11 p.m.
