For xmas my 13 yr old son would like a laptop...I need some advise as to which one to get him.. i am looking towards a Dell, would that be good or is there something else better for a 13 yr old? Also what else is needed besides the laptop..does the wireless thing come with it?

I'd look into a Dell Vostro. It's completely stripped down with no bloated software on it. Also, I'd look into getting it with XP instead of Vista.

I bought my 12 year old Daughter a Dell laptop this past Christmas.
She couldn't be happier with it and haven't had any problems.
I also installed this before I gave it to her.

Do not under any circumstance by a Dell. Worst customer service, and once something gets fucked up the whole system is never the same.

I have 4 Dells, 2 desktops and 2 laptops ranging from under 1 year old up to 5 years old.
I've never had a single problem with any of them. If you purchase quality to begin with you'll never need customer service.

Hello,
I heard dell has horrible customer service. Last Christmas I bought my wife a laptop...westinghouse...yes they make laptops...it runs fine, and so far no problems. Then again she does not do anything special on it.
I suggest check these web sites. They have good prices on laptops and if this is for your 13 year old, it will be good enough for him/her.

Hope this helps....

Most new laptops come with a wireless card already built in. There is also wireless cards you can purchase, that can be connected to either the usb port or the card slot. But most new laptops have built in cards. Just make sure that the wireless card in the computer is a 802.11g. Again most new laptops already have it.
Good luck.
