Figured I would start a thread for devoted Knick fans. Ok, so 1-1 so far and only down 6 to the Nuggets at the half. They haven't looked bad this year so far. They could actually gel together nicely and make a playoff push

That WAS an encouraging win, I'll admit. But if there's any team that has specialized in INCONSISTENCY for the last decade, it's the New York Knicks. So I'm not getting too excited yet...

except marbury, that bum. Play decent for 3 quarters then seemingly tried to blow the game

Honestly, this is insulting to basketball fans everywhere. David Stern needs to step in here, a storied franchise like N.Y. should not be allowed to be run like this. Why don't Knicks fans picket or something, stage a walk out or whatever it takes. Send the message to Dolan that you aren't gonna stand for this anymore. You guys are literally being robbed of money, its absolutely criminal.

youre protesting against Dolan and his decision to keep Isiah around. I know Devil Rays fans have done this as have O's fans in the past. It doesnt really work well or anything, but at least youre displeasure is voiced in some manner. its not just the media speaking via the back page of the Post or News. It's the furtherest thing from racial........Isiah sucks, period. I dont care what color he is, that man is a cancer to everything he touches. The guys on PTI were discussing this the other day, how his terrible run as CBA killer/GM/Coach has completely overshadowed how amazing he was as a player. and its so true, when i think of Isiah Thomas i dont think of one of the most gifted players to ever play the game anymore, i think of a man that kills everything he touches.

Walsh Open To Joining Knicks
Donnie Walsh, who is leaving the Indiana Pacers after the season to pursue another high-level front-office job, "certainly would be open" to joining the Knicks with full control over the basketball operations, someone with knowledge of his thinking said yesterday.
"It's New York, and he loves New York and he loves this league," the person said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
"He's very open-minded about things," the person familiar with Walsh's thinking said. "He welcomes a challenge, and obviously wherever he goes, he's going to have to have significant control of the organization." -- Newsday

he already is exposed and has been for the past two years. like it or not if the Lakers stay together (meaning if Kobe stays the year) that team will contend in the West and its not like they have a TON of talent on that team. phil has finally coached them well enough to the point that team is starting to play as a unit and master the triangle. he can do the same with the talent in NY.

well, if i had the choice to coach the Knicks or take one last shot at maybe winning a ring with Kobe out in L.A., i would have gone with Kobe and L.A. too. In my scenario I proposed before Phil sees that his choice didn't work out, thus leaving the door open for a jump to N.Y.

It really is amazing how miscoached (if that's a word, which it's not, because Firefox is underlining it in red), this team is. A lot of times a team can suck, but it's simply because the talent isn't there, and it's not the fault of the coach. But this is completely the opposite case. The Knicks are full of talent... WASTED fucking talent. The better part of this team is coming off the bench and playing 10-15 minutes a night.
It's amazing how the team instantly got back in the game as soon as the second string took the court. Look at the potential this team has when guys like Jeffries, Rose, Jones, and most notably Lee, get in the game. David Lee on a good team could be a borderline All Star... but his talent is wasted playing on a shit team for a shit coach. So frustrating.
A couple other notes:
Why are the Knicks playing in their home white jerseys IN Detroit? What is this, football?
Also, the fact that Rip Hamilton still plays with that fucking protective mask on his face is honestly embarrassing at this point. Seriously? Give up the shtick dude... it's been like 4 years.

Derrick Rose
Point Guard (Rank: #3) | 6-4, 195 | Age: 19
Memphis (Freshman)
Hometown: Chicago
Draft Projection: Top 5
Notes: As a senior in 2006-07, averaged 25 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 3.4
Derrick Rose
Rose's ballhandling skills are now on display for Memphis.
(Nick Laham/Getty Images)
steaks and 1.0 blocks while shooting 59 percent from the field and 45 percent from 3-point range to help Simeon (Ill.) finish 33-2 and capture its second consecutive Class AA state title.
Positives: Pass-first point guard with excellent floor vision and handle. Strong and athletic. A tenacious defender. Great quickness and leaping ability. Excels taking his man to the basket. Virtually unstoppable one-on-one. Great size for his position. Excellent floor leader.
Negatives: Needs to work on his jump-shot consistency, though in high school his 45 percent from 3-point range wasn't too shabby.
Summary: The best pure point guard in the draft draws some comparisons to Deron Williams. However, Rose is actually more athletic. Looks like a lock for a top-five pick if he can lead Memphis deep into the NCAA Tournament this season.

O.J. Mayo Draft Bio
Point Guard (Rank: #2) | 6-4, 195 | Age: 20
USC (Freshman)
Hometown: Huntington, W.V.
Draft Projection: Top 5
Similarities: Chauncey Billups.
Mayo brings great credentials to his debut with the Trojans.
(AP Photo/Jeff Gentner)
Notes: Averaged 29.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.9 assists as a high school senior.
Positives: Big-time combo guard with excellent size, scoring ability and handle. Excellent penetrator with quick first step. Good finisher around the basket. Has deep range on his jump shot, but streaky. NBA-ready body. Sees the floor well. Can make the spectacular pass. Unselfish on the court. Loves to compete.
Negatives: Lacks a developed midrange game. Has had some off-court issues. Teams worry that his ego is overinflated with all of the hype since eighth grade. A year older than everyone else in his class.
Summary: Teams are down on him a little right now. But if he comes into USC and dominates right away, everyone will be on the bandwagon in a hurry. He has all the tools to be a great NBA player.

Isiah Thomas is like Ziggy from The Wire season 2, how he can just fuck up everything, keep doing illegal shit, costing money, and his daddy james dolan just wont fire him

Isiah Thomas should be fired for many reasons but the Eddie Curry trade sticks out, he's a big man who is afraid of getting rebounds, he gets eaten alive by every shitty center in the league.
Radio Psychic : Isiah Thomas gets fired tonight

the saddest part is, it doesnt matter if Isiah gets fired. As long as James Dolan is running the team, it doesnt make any difference who else is on our team.

umm
i hope you dont think the court is a diff size in college and NBA
the only thing diff at all is the 3 point line depth
which is moving back next year

everything bad. celtics first turnover came at 6 minutes left in the 4th. Garnett scored 4 points, and at one point, the celtics as a team had 0 turnovers, 23 assists, 29 FGs, and 84 points. I think they were something like 12-22 from 3

due to the injuries on my fantasy basketball team i had to plug starbury in this week. id like to thank him for his 4 points tonight.

i didnt say trade steph, just buy him out. And im sure we would get MAYBE 1 cent on the dollar for curry, but i would just bench him. Let him come in off the bench but start randolph and lee inside. Id also probably start balkman over Q, since Q has been awful and Crawford takes all the shots anyway. Balkman would give great d and good penetration

its that stupid bullshit thought that everyone has, that you have to start the guys who get paid the most. Whatever, as long as Lee, Balkman, and the other guys who actually play are in the games the most minutes in the second half, we can win games

yeh i hate that well we're not paying him 15 mil a yr to sit on the bench and i understand that but it doesnt make sense to hurt yourself and not put out the best team on the court, field, whatever b/c of salary
