View Full Version : Off-Airport Parking at Newark?

I'm going to be travelling at Christmas this year. Normally I'd take a car service or a ride to the airport, but since we're going to be visiting family before we leave, we have to park at the Airport.

(Unless I can find a way to get from our house to family's house to EWR, and then direct from EWR to home on the way back. But I think, especially on Christmas Day, that would be more expensive than parking at Newark)

(I also thought about renting a car one-way back and forth from EWR, but because most local places are closed on Christmas day, again, expensive)

Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with the off-airport parking? I think parking at EWR's long term lots are going to be jammed, so it's basically places like Avistar and the like.

Thanks!

Parking in Newark is crazy to begin with..Why don't you leave your car at your family's house & take a cab. How far is your family away? I know it cost like 25 plus tolls to Newark from my house & I live like 10 min away.

I've done off site parking. It was relatively cheap, and easy. They always have a shuttle ready to scoop you up. If you are not going to hire a car, it's fine. Just leave yourself a little more time.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. My only concern is damage to the car, especially since it's one of those places where you leave the key. The horror stories I've read mainly concern stuff being stolen inside the car, and that's easily avoided if the car is empty to begin with when dropped off.

I'll rent you a spot outside my house...

Short trip on the train to EWR.

Here is the place I use when I travel and park at the airport. I use skypark (http://brooklyn.citysearch.com/profile/6660192/newark_nj/sky_park.html) The average price in Newark runs about 15 - 18 per 24 hours. Some hotels also have the parking available.

The price for Sky Park is 15 but you get half price by giving them a business card.

I've used Air Park (http://www.airparkparking.com/ewrhome.php) and was pretty happy with them. I can't remember what I paid (couldn't have been astronomical since I err on the cheap side), but they picked me up quickly at my terminal when I landed (2am). It was snowing and when I got to the lot they had my car waiting with the heat on and room in the trunk for my luggage. They were very courteous. I'd use them again.
