You can see how nobbed the display is. I dropped it a few times, the doozy being about 9 feet onto concrete. I've become an expert at putting the dial and the XM button back in.

My next mod was somehow getting it to periodically lose the 1/2 hour of "paused" show. I'm in and out of my truck pretty often, so most of my R&F listening is done with the pause feature. I'll be contentedly listening when I hear the "beep of doom" and it has fast forwarded to the present. I try to set it back to where I was, and it will go for a few seconds, then beep back to the present.

The latest feature is that the pad data (what little of it I can still read) only appears when the unit is paused or playing paused material. When it is live I get the channel number and nothing more.

It still works though.

My myfi was dropped several times on my paved driveway. It had some scratches, but worked like a champ for over two years, until it was stolen. I replaced it with a refurbished Airware that is also doing fine.

My inno has a few dings in it, mainly from the time I was running down a hill and it popped out of it's casing. But it works great.

Now when I go through a bad signal area, the audio switches to Channel 1 briefly, and sounds all compressed like the traffic channels. Sometimes the unit switches completely over to channel 1 and I have to set it back to 202. I'm expecting messages from the heavens soon.

I just buy a new antenna ever year and a half

I don't need razzle dazzle, just something that can play 202

I'm actually enjoying the degradation of my unit. It's like having some old friend slowly going senile, but still interesting to hang out with.

my MyFi has some body damage but the bigger problem is i have to replace the car antenna every 6-8 months and i recently burned out the power cord.

i guess that because i run it thru the door jamb, it gets crimped and it refuses to pick up a signal. i'm thinking of gluing a piece of metal to my dashboard and keeping the antenna inside. we'll see how that works.

Mine is beat to shit. I've dropped it onto concrete several times and I lost the battery cover over a year ago. I'm still using it several hours a day though, and I still have the original firmware.

It'll work like crap. Trust me, I installed several hundred of these when i worked for Tweeter.

Everyone having issues with antennas/power cords go have it professionally installed, itll run you around 75 bucks and you wont have to buy a new antenna every year. The problem with the antennas is when they get "handled" a lot, either from getting pulled in and out ofa car, or having a door shut on them every day. They last much longer if you permanently install them. My current antenna has been on my car for 3 years, and was on my old car before that.

It's pretty easy to find an existing rubber gromet to run the antenna wire through. In my Silverado, there's one right behind my seat, in the floorboard. The wire runs up between the bed and the cab, tucked into the weatherstripping on the back glass. The seam continues up past the glass and onto the roof. It works great and you can't even see the wire.

It has to be oriented properly on a 90 degree scheme. Look closely at the knobby protuberences on the button, then look at the anti-knobual receptacle slots inside the hole on the unit.

One time, I thought I was clever by putting the button in upside down.

Does anyone have an extra car antenna they can spare? I need one for a friend.

BTW... I have a couple of extra home antennas sitting around, if anyone wants one.

Which home ant!? I need a better one BAD. Mine just isn't working well. Pic or PM pic?

My inno is doing quite well, minus the back bat cover doesn't snap in too good.

The one on the left came with a Samsung Nexus. The one on the right came with a Delphi.

Wow, I forgot about this thread. Here's the update on my SkyfiII. I am still using it, although it permanently resides in my work truck. The magna-mount antenna wore out long ago, so I have the home antenna (delphi version pictured in Papabear's post) wedged in the corner of my dashboard. The 12 volt power cable wire is exposed at the jack, so that has an OSHA-approved layer of scotch tape around it. I was still having problems with the unit losing power when going over bumps, so I now have about a foot of velcro wrapped tightly around the bottom of the car base, holding both the 12 volt jack and the straight jack from the house antenna in place. I no longer lose power. This thing will not die, going on over 4 years now.

They're the same. One came from a Delphi and one came from a Samsung, and the are interchangeable.

The car antenna is all he needs, but since I use a Nexus myself, I'd be happy to have the extra parts. I'd pay for the shipping, of course. BTW... It would probably fit in the smallest Flat Rate Priority box that ships for like 5 bucks.

I'd post my MyFi but I had to disconnect it when the price changes went into effect. The fucking battery was shot on it anyway. I never liked recording shows anyway, it was annoying listening back to them and not being able to interact with the show.

My parents still have the Roady2 units I gave them years ago.

It's funny. They guy who needs the antenna need it for the Roady 2 I just gave him! Several years ago, I was letting him use my MyFi, and it got stolen out of his car. He gave me the money to buy a used Pioneer Airsomethingorother, and I ended up giving that to him, too. He needed the Roady 2 for his chick.

I've got some spare Inno/Helix shit lying around (home antenna, power supply, home dock that I put a toggle switch on the back to switch it to car mode for the FM Mod to work before that firmware fix came out). My poor Helix fell out of my pocket a few weeks ago, which wouldn't be so bad but I was doing about 50 mph on my motorcycle at the time. I'd have gone back for it, but that motherfucker just about exploded on impact.

this thread reminded me to call XM and manage my account!. holy fuck i have a multitude of XM recievers

i have:
1 - an old roadyXT that i put in my GX470 only to replace it with a VAIS Soundlinq2xmt and a 2 - mini-tuner to get rid of exposed wires and clutter.
3 - OEM equiptment in my wife's CTS
4 - another mini-tuner hooked up to my yamaha surround sound receiver

i have a couple of other old assed ones like the skyfi2 and the original roady
