LeBron passed the ball at the end of Game 1. Kobe doesn't pass it.
I think Lebron reads ronfez.net.
Lost in all this will be the fact that Hedo is a bad motherfucker as well.

39-26 free throws. In the Magic's favor.
The non goaltending call on LeBron, the foul called on Howard on the clean block from behind, a number of blatant fouls not called on the Cavs, blocking a guard in the back in between a PF and a center and calling a foul ...
The Magic should have had, at the very least, the opportunity to make the point differential even more than ten.
hammersavage

Officiating just blows, not for either team. All around. AJ's flagrant was a bad one though. LeBron's 1st chasedown wasn't a goaltend.

If you look at the replay it absolutely was a goaltend.
And I don't disagree about the officiating, but I watched a number of questionable calls on Howard and Lewis and a number of glaring non-calls on James.

With the talent and the story lines in play, yes. You don't need buzzer beaters for a game to be great unless you don't understand how to watch basketball like some housewife. And it wasn't just some random game winning shot, it was iconic. If that series peters out, then no.

Welcome to the series Boobie Gibson.
You see Mike Brown, the offense runs much more efficiently when West or Williams take the inbounds and dribble upcourt, using LeBron on screens or establishing a post. Instead of LeBron dribbling up for a clear out, and since he's so great getting his points but not getting the rest of the team involved. It took you 3 games to get that Mike Brown?

Not a good call. Flat out. The league is really sensitive about that type of incident, yelling in a players face while he is down.
To the league's credit, they well almost definitely rescind that. Technically, he missed that free throw, made Ewing's. Doesn't matter
And what does Mike Brown do? Plays Wally Szczerbiak and Ben Wallace in crunch time. Just play James, West, Williams, Varejao and Z you dumb bastard. Joe Smith if you need a 4 off the bench, let Boobie Williams shoot. He's awful.

Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard is back to two technical fouls away from suspension territory.
The NBA announced Wednesday that it has rescinded Howard's sixth technical foul of the playoffs, which he was given for taunting Anderson Varejao after a layup in the fourth quarter of the Magic's 116-114 overtime victory Tuesday night. Cleveland's forward had draped his arms around Howard in a failed attempt to stop him from scoring.
Howard's total of technicals for the postseason is thus back down to five. Players receive a one-game suspension after reaching seven technical fouls and further one-game suspensions for every other technical thereafter.
I said they would. The problem is the refs are so trigger happy to make these calls, they shouldn't have to downgrade them afterwards. Just get them right at the time.

What is it about the NBA that makes it so difficult to officiate? You never hear these sorts of complaints in other major sports.
Has it become too fast paced for these old men to keep up?
Is it just that fouls are so subjective and not as clearly defined as fair/foul, inbounds/out of bounds, reception/incomplete, etc.?

Definitely these things. Don't forget home court. Same reason why its the biggest advantage in any sport, the crowd is so close and so loud, its only human.
And superstars get the calls because they are given the benefit of the doubt for being so good. How could Kobe miss that shot or LeBron lost that handle.
And they are just too old. Dick Bavetta is 70. 70!!!!!!!! and he has to keep up with LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. Get real.
Flopping from the foreign players, a huge problem a few years ago, they did a good job of cracking down. Now its complaining about calls, gives the appearance that every call is bad. I'd like to see them crack down on that.
But get younger and train them. It's retarded that certain refs are allowed to even ref certain teams (ie: Joey Crawford in San Antonio). Someone has to keep on top of that. It's fixable, I hope.

Well, the odds for winning the championship are usually very good for every team except for 1 or 2. This season was the Celtics and Lakers as big favorites. I bet only $25 on the Cavs and Magic. Their odds would bring back $400 and $600 respectively cuz their odds were pretty good. Then I pick 4 teams and bet $200 on each to go over or under.

No press conference LeBron? Until you can man up after a giant loss, you aren't a superstar.
I love how all his apologists were making excuses for him.
One of the guys on FAN yesterday morning, Richard Neer or Jody MacDonald, was complaining about his callers that were mocking James for leaving the court like a pussy by saying " OK so he did it one time in his entire career and now it's a habit ? "
The point is he did it at his most difficult time which makes him look like a crybaby.
Anybody can meet w/ the press and shake hands when they win a series 4-0 but when you lose the biggest games of your career now all of a sudden you're a " competitor " and don't like to congratulate the team that beat you ?
His explanation, while wearing a Yankee hat like the poser he is, was that he's a winner and he doesn't like to congratulate the team that beat him.
Well you know what scumbag, there are plenty of guys in the history of your sport that have won a lot more than you ( since you haven't won a damn thing ) and have been graceful in losses.

Who is Turkoglu going to guard?
Everyone thought the Lakers would take Detroit apart in 2004 and The Pistons would have swept them had it not be for a Kobe hitting a miracle shot. Hopefully we will see an exciting series that will culminate in a game 7.

Gasol/Lewis is a bigger mismatch than I thought. Gasol is so versatile, he can post Rashard up which he can't defend. Keeps two big defenders inside and opens things up a little bit for Kobe. Magic looked really outmatched. I don't think they have a chance in this series but they better win 1 game of I lose money.

Thoughts:
1-That Bynum contract is an albatross. He is useless.
2-Gasol might be underrated even though he was 3rd team all NBA. He has so many moves to score for a guy his size. Incredible.
3-Howard deserves all the credit in the world for becoming a competent free throw shooter. If he adds another low post move, he will be an EVERYDAY dominate center.

Everyone seems to forget how BAD of a GM Danny Ainge was, until he magically (barely) landed KG & Ray Allen.
Even with the Ray Allen trade, people were absolutely baffled.
Danny Ainge is a terrible GM.
Trading Rajon Rondo. Yeah, that's a terrific idea. Let's get older, because our problem this year wasn't injuries.

I know he blows. If it wasnt for Kevin Mchale hookin up the C's, they would be dogshit still.
But Hamilton is worse than allen, prince is just ok, and stuckey sucks balls. Rondo is a top 5 PG on his way up by far, and ALLEN IN THE PLAYOFFS.
Im honest when I say i DONT think Isiah Thomas would even CONSIDER this deal

Iverson isn't involved. There's no way Isiah would have considered the deal.
Watching GMs trade in the NBA is like watching blind retards throwing darts. The MAJORITY of the fans should never know better than the guy running the team, yet that seems what is going on most times in the NBA.

They both are. Rondo is like a month and a half older. They're two completely different 1 guards. Stuckey is the better scorer and Rondo is the better distributor. With the current Celtics line-up, Rajon is the better fit.

BULLSHIT. Rondo is really on his way to being a perennial all star and stuckey is on his way to not getting a big contract. He STINKS in every game I watch. Hamilton is like the poor man's ray allen.
After this playoffs, prince isnt even good enough to be the poor man's ariza. This would SERIOUSLY be worse than Chris Wallace and the Gasol trade
Is Ainge trying to protect himself against Ray Allen's free agency at the end of next season?

If Stuckey is that bad, someone will definitely give him the max contract.

Maybe his brain type didn't fit with what Ainge is trying to do.
Didn't Ainge sign Vin Baker to a max contract? How can you figure out his motives?

I think the Knicks took that max contract of Vin Baker in a trade.....TWICE
The Celtics offered Ray Allen(notes) and Rajon Rondo(notes) to the Detroit Pistons for a package that included Richard Hamilton(notes), Tayshaun Prince(notes) and Rodney Stuckey(notes), league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

you really think this kid is gonna be good? i was watching highlight tapes of him yesterday and all i remember thinking was, 'this dude has no shot in the NBA' he can barely dribble, his "moves" are very slow and very white and all he likes to do is run. On second thought, I would LOVE for the Knicks to take him.

Ok, draft is 24 hours away. Here's players I like and don't like.
Its a weak draft, but I think there is talent at the point.
Griffin is an awesome talent, but going into a terrible situation. He might not ever develop into the player he should on the Clippers. Wouldn't surprise me if he is a bust years down the line, that franchise has a knack for doing that.
Rubio is the real deal. He impressed me in the gold medal game against the US (even though it was 2am and I had a good buzz). He's only 18 and played professional basketball. I hope he goes to OKC.
Thabeet is also learning his offensive game. He will be an immediate shot blocker but is so raw offensively. He will take a little time to develop but will do enough to keep him in the league for a while.
I think Harden and Jru Holiday are bums. Not an East Coast bias, I just have seen each play at the highest level and they stunk up the gym.
I'd love the Knicks to get Stephen Curry but it looks less likely to happen. He is the purest shooter in the draft and he'd be in a system where that is all he is asked to be. He is undersized and probably doesn't have enough ball handling ability, but can be really effective in the right circumstance. Can create his own shot which is huge.
I also think Jonny Flynn would be a good Knick. I think he has the persona to be a star in NY.
Deronzen and Jordan Hill never did anything for me.
I've been in love with Earl Clark since the second he walked onto the court and said he was from Jersey. I would kill for the Nets to have a chance at him, he will have the best career of anyone outside the lottery (if he makes it).
No idea what to make of Jennings. He was the 2nd best player on the court a couple years back in Gunnin' for that #1 Spot. I don't know what playing pro ball in Italy for a year did for him. Also the same for Tyreke Evans. I think both of them have the highest upside.
Teague and Maynor should be servicable PG in the league. I think Gerald Henderson will be an energy guy off the bench with length. Dejuan Blair can rebound from Day 1, the rest of the game needs work. Terrence Williams can do a little bit of everything. Lawson is undersized but the guy willed his team thru the tournament and was the best player on the court most games. Hansbrough could contribute. Danny Green and Jodie Meeks should have value in the 2nd round.

Rubio doesnt look great to me in what Ive seen of him. He plays pro against other shitty white pros.
Id rather have Jonny Flynn for the knicks. Curry will need some time to develope, and the knicks dont need a PG who shoots alot. Flynn will attack better, has a better NBA body, and is willing to run an offense more. I want Flynn

there is no chance a 37 year old Shaq puts them over the top. Especially if they don't use him the way the Suns smartly did.

Well despite Hippo saying he liked him and effectively ending his career, he is a pure jump shooter in ever sense. On the Knicks, that is all he will have to do. I don't know how well he'll work out in another situation.
The TWolves also have 4 first round picks now. Weak draft, but they can still get a ton of value with those.

He was on the roster, they had to play him. The stupidity was getting him. But once you have him, don't play him back to back days, try to play him 2 out of 3. They have the best training staff in the league, also kept him healthy.

Shawn Respert, Juan Dixon, JJ Reddick. Gimme a break. Curry is gonna be garbage.
The only team that could really use him would be Oklahoma City and that would be to sell tickets by having Curry visit all of the local churches and preaching the word of God.
