Why do we put stuff on our Refrigerators?

I just bought a new frige and all the stuff from my old one is already taped on it, pictures of my daughter, magnets, chinese,italian,restaurant menus,etc.:drunk::unsure::smoke:

Why do the things ON my fridge last longer that the things IN my fridge?
I would say it's because you don't put bologna on your fridge door, but I keep film inside my fridge and it lasts for years. I'm confused.


*side note* Who else here imagines the old Oscar Mayer song, when they are typing the word "bologna"?
