You and a person you love deeply are placed in separate rooms
with a button next to each of you. You know that you will both
be killed unless one of you presses your button before 60
minutes pass; furthermore, the first to press the button will
save the other person, but will immediately be killed. What do
you think you would do?

But if you choose to save your loved one, then you're putting them through a different pain, because they have to deal with your death and go through life without you.
THERE'S THE GREAT CONUNDRUM.

I'd push it. Better she cry than be dead.

You're assuming they love you back.
So I ask, when is love appropriate in a relationship?

I press all kinds of buttons everday in hope that one day, I will push that button.

"You and a person you love deeply are placed in separate rooms"
It doesn't say anything about them loving you in return.
Doctor Z

You gotta consider the WHOLE picture.
In order to take part in this horrible scenario, you and someone you love, need to be included. This applies to everyone involved. See?

Yeah but what if nazis had your parents?
Ritalin

What if one of the people in the room was Keithy, and the other was a girl he is seeing, and he's not sure if they're just friends, or friends with benefits, and he's not even sure if he should say he loves her or not?
I say he would go online in the first minute and start a thread "When is the right time to push the button?"

I'd go back in time and kill Hitler's mom.

considering i am incapable of loving, the other room would be empty and I would lose either way :surrender:

I would push the button and just get it over with. I mean it's better than the way my wife is slowly kiling me now. Besides, she would only be sad until the $500,000 insurance check comes in

Of course I'd push the button. And anyone crazy enough to love me would instantly yell out "You sank my battleship!"

I vote for us both dying and going out together. I wouldn't want to go through life knowing he sacrificed himself for me when we could have died together, I would be so guilty I'd wish I had died.
The dating scene is a bitch, I would never go back.
It's one thing if my husband died by jumping in front of a bullet for me or something, but if we have this information and can make a choice, I'd want to go out Romeo and Juliet style.

Second, if Fezzie talks about this thread on-air and starts crying, I'm coming for you Munson!!!!!

I think you're the first woman to respond, and while almost every guy is saying they'd happily push the button, you're like, "He's dead... And me too." If that doesn't say men and women love differently, I don't know what does.
If I kids and liked their mother, I might push the button. Otherwise, I'm sitting there waiting for the chick in the other room to do the right thing...

I'd push the button as quickly as possible so I made sure I hit it before my wife did. If one of us could live, I'd want it to be her. Plus, kids need a mom. I don't want my daughters to grow up like Marla Hooch.

Why not? They could be just like their Dad.

Here's a variation of the question:
If Ron where in one room and Fez in the other, who would you want to push the button first or would you want them to go out together?

Huh.
Am I missing something here, or has Jujubee just publicly proclaimed his man love for BOTH Ron and Fez?

I would get her to agree to do the "one, two, three push the button bit" and we will both die together at the same time but... I would cup my hand over the button and yell "psyche" at about the time she realizes she is dead and I am out of this damn marriage scott free. Woo Hoo!
